Great location with stunnig views but if you pay full price I would expect a better room. The staff are excellent so there is nothing more you can do here - everyone was so helpful. With regards to the ground floor, this is also of a very high standard with some great rooms to relax in and good views from... more

This was my favorite hotel on my recent trip to Scotland. I love the manor-style hotel. Our room was large with reasonably comfortable twin beds, a very large bathroom with great shower/bath tub, and a FANTASTIC view of the loch. I wish we had more than 2 nights at this hotel. We took advantage of the bar offerings and enjoyed... more

I have just arrived back from this hotel with my new husband and 10 members of our wedding party and I cannot understand the negative reviews that this hotel has received. The staff couldn't do enough to help me and my family with our wedding preparations, the hotel manager even gave my grandmother and my dad a lift back to... more

I booked accommodation at this hotel after checking their website. Our room was nothing like the bedroom photos on their website. The room was tired, in desperate need of refurbishment. The room was relatively clean but it didn't look it because of the decor and furnishings. The wardrobe door wouldn't stay closed, there was black mould on the bathroom ceiling... more

Stayed with my wife and 8 members of our fanily for a 60th birthday party/dinner and had a ball. The staff were magnificent and helped with the flowers and cake. Ok the hotel is a bit jaded in parts, but many rooms have been upgraded and the bar and dining room are excellent; cannot understand the negative comments on the... more

My husband and I and another couple booked 4 nights at Ballachulish House approximately one year ago.We looked forward to our trip all year.We were due to arrive on Monday 20th April 2009 at Ballachulish House. On the Thursday night prior to our arrival we came home to an answerphone message which said "I am calling from Ballachulish House to... more

Beautiful old building that obviously was once well cared for but that care ended some time ago. Lovely common areas still exist but the rooms we had were gone very shabby and the cleanliness was questionable at best. Food quality and menu choice was very poor. The area is stunning but find somewhere else to stay. more

Pleasant hotel in stunning scenery of Glencoe, Scotland. Room was clean although the wallpaper cellotaped repairs were amusing. Restaurant was good overall (menu at £25 per head) with one chef better than the other . We went on the seasonal 2 night deal which was good value. The large lounge and the library meant that there was always space to... more

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions over previous years and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.......particularly the food!! That is why we returned to celebrate my wife's birthday. Sadly, it appears that Folio Hotels have decided that return trade is no longer required. Standards are definitely lower and the food is poor. We booked in over Christmas-four of... more

I booked a romantic weekend for my my wife and myself in September 07 for January 08 by telephone. I was then shocked to find that they immediately charged the whole amount to my c.card, not a deposit, the WHOLE amount. In protest I called only to be told that this was a condition on their web site, but they... more
