The hotel overall was good. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. It does need some updating in both the communal reception and hallways and in the rooms. You can tell it was once a great looking hotel but it does need some money spending on it, especially the carpets and the bathrooms. This didn't take away from me... More

This hotel had on the surface a look of a majestic Scottish hotel and does look lovely with spectacular views, however scratch the surface and you find the place needs a good cleaning. Dining on tacky and sticky tables is unpleasant, food was not as fresh or local as they maintain, and is expensive, breakfasts were not the best cooked... More

Our bathroom seemed to have last been cleaned properly sometime in the 1980s. This hotel is begging for some sensitive refurbishment. Apparently under new ownership so hopefully they will put some cash into it and restore it to its former glory. The staff are however first class. Possibly the most welcome I felt during all my time in Scotland.

We stayed for one night and can honestly say I was rather concerned after reading some reports on here., I need not have worried as we were given a lovley room at the front of the hotel - yes it was dated but come on this is an oldie worldy type of hotel. The room was clean and thats all... More

We've stayed here several times before and enjoyed our stays, however this time there has been a noticeable drop in the standard of the hotel. Our room had not been cleaned properly with cobwebs on the ceiling, a layer of dust everywhere and hairs in the bathroom. Public areas are just as bad with dirty Windows and holes on the... More

My partner got me a weekend trip away after much deliberation I decided a trip to Glencoe and the Ballachulish was the hotel. After reading trip advisor I must admit I was sceptical however I went with an open mind and how WRONG the reviews were....the hotel staff were very welcoming when we arrived and the room was better than... We stayed here for one night on our way up to Skye. 2 males on reception pleasant however not the most efficient. Hallways very musty smelling. Room a good size and overall clean with a lovely bathroom. A few points ruined our stay however. The first issue was that the room was freezing even with the heating up full, secondly... More

Advertised as a romantic room, the room, thread bare chairs, view over the rusty boat shed, bed spread in need of wash....oh and the toilet with a view ( in) from the fire escape! Layout poor, a mirror but no light, a kettle but no plug within reach. Food was excellent, sirloin cooked to perfection and excellent service. But choose... More

Another visit to the hotel and again Frank and his team couldn't be more helpful. Our intention was to stay one night but after making enquiries we stayed for another night. The food great as usual, good to see some different wines available maybe some more Italian wines?? Great place to relax and just chill. Hope to be back soon.
