If we can ever find this place again we will b returning with more people!! We had a delightful Sunday lunch on a day when we were driving aimlessly looking for somewhere interesting to eat! The compasses inn delivered just that! Lovely quirky pub, with high quality food, the soup in particular was something special and served with homemade bread!... More

We recently stayed overnight en route to Cornwall. As always, our stay was first class. Excellent food, lovely staff and a very clean and comfortable room. Perfect! We will be back again as soon as the opportunity arises.

We stayed two nights here whilst on a bike ride and loved the room which was large, warm and with a big bathroom and warm fluffy towels. Do not be alarmed with the noise coming up from the pub below because once it has shut it is quiet. It is out in the middle of nowhere but easy to find... More

We had arranged to meet some friends for lunch and thought we could find it without using Sat Nav - wrong!! Tisbury was easy enough to get to but from there on, there were no signs whatsoever. Even after asking the only human being we saw for mile (a postwoman) we spent about an hour driving up and down similar... More

Disappointing Sunday Lunch today. Burnt yorkshire puddings, and hard roast potatoes, and though there were four of us the amount of vegetables included was only sufficient for two. We had to ask for more, but even then, after further irritating delay, only an extremely small dish arrived. The amount of meat provided was hardly sufficient and the gravy given was... More

Stayed two nights here with breakfast and dinner as part of a country walking weekend with a friend. Our dog friendly room was v clean, contemporary and comfortable, with a lovely ensuite shower room. Tea/ coffee tray well stocked, tv fine and good bed linens. Our dogs were welcomed in the very cosy pub, where a table was thoughtfully reserved... More

Wonderful two night stay in Plum Cottage. Great location and could go on hikes from the front foot. Really appreciated the walking maps provided. Lovely bedrooms, which were newly furnished (middle bedroom's mattress is maybe in need of replacement though), loved the log burning fire and great to have a kitchen (but would have benefitted from dishcloth, tea towel, sharp... The cottage was comfortable but dated with inadequate facilities. The dishwasher had a broken top tray, the washing machine did not spin and the cooker was faulty. There were no homely or practical provisions such as a mop to clean the floor as a result of muddy boots and puppy. The electrics were worrying and smoke alarms broken. Expected to... More

We spent a night at the compasses. The room was so sweet with an ajoining bathroom. It was immaculate and had everything we needed. It was a real treat to stay in such an old pub, it had so much charm and athmosphere. The food was fantastic, we had a three course meal, with wine and drinks either side of... More

We had a wonderful evening with tasty food and good drinks and some bears. Like the origin atmosphere very much. surrounded from Beautifully countryside around. Nice location for having a perfect trip at the countryside (we have been fly fishing) and get some tasty meal after ;-)
