I stayed here in sept this year as was taking part in a riding camp at bow house down the road. The suite I had was clean and well appointed. Staff were helpful and breakfast was delightful especially the porridge! Would stay again, lots of party's of walkers as in such a splendid surrounding.

Stayed here as a family 30 years ago when it was a hotel. Returned recently whilst visiting a cousin to research some family connections in the area. Hadn't realised it was now a "Youth Hostel for the Over 60s". Communal breakfast was a first for us. Not a problem but should be noted when booking. Food and room were fine.

The views from the lounge & dining room are spectacular, over the whole valley. The bar is pleasant & there is plenty of public space. We booked accommodation in a lodge, one of 8 at the drive entrance. It was spacious & well laid out, with bedroom, bathroom & sitting room, including kitchen area with fridge, although we were on... Some rooms have fabulous views, but all rooms need work. A tired hotel, with noisy fans, old Fitting Windows , tiny showers and very uncomfortable beds. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.

We booked a Bank Holiday get-away at the very last minute, so when our rooms turned out to be suites I was absolutely delighted! It was a good sign when the rooms had names rather than numbers. I was completely blown away by two rooms with fantastic views and a big bathroom. The bedroom had a big four-poster bed which... More

My wife and I stayed on a week long HF guided walking holiday in late August. Upon arrival we were greeted with drinks and cake and a friendly welcome from the staff. Our room was a reasonable size, clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was adequate, although I would have preferred a bit more room in the over... More

The views from this hotel are amazing. The twin room we booked was spacious and clean. We could not have breakfast on the first morning due to a 8am walk. The hotel allow 1hour 15 minutes for guests to have their breakfast which I thought a little unfair. The second morning we had breakfast which was nice but if you... More

Arrived late due to weather and road conditions. Phoned ahead and there was lovely meal ready for my family and me when we arrived. Full 3 course followed by choice of teas or coffee. Luxurious rooms. Great facilities for walkers. Would recommend
