The views from this hotel are amazing. The twin room we booked was spacious and clean. We could not have breakfast on the first morning due to a 8am walk. The hotel allow 1hour 15 minutes for guests to have their breakfast which I thought a little unfair. The second morning we had breakfast which was nice but if you... More

Arrived late due to weather and road conditions. Phoned ahead and there was lovely meal ready for my family and me when we arrived. Full 3 course followed by choice of teas or coffee. Luxurious rooms. Great facilities for walkers. Would recommend

A very quiet hotel with excellent views. We were given a suite on arrival which was a nice surprise. Food and service a bit old school with the 7.15 dinner, everybody sits together. To be fare to them I think they mainly cater for groups/ walking holidays.

I stayed here on business for the week. Externally, it's looking in desperate need of a makeover but inside on the ground floor, it's actually quite nice and comfortable. There's plenty of room to sit and relax and different areas if you want somewhere quieter. I didn't use the bar or the restaurant in the evening so I can't comment... More

Magnificently situated (although it's a steep walk if you don't have a car), the hotel offers a great base for walking. Some of the decor may be rather dated, but I'm only interested in functionality and cleanliness (massive, comfy four poster) and bathroom (modern, great shower, corner bath). Vegetarian food was tasty, with seriously huge portions. Breakfast was a particular... More

visited this hotel twice previously before it was taken over by HF holidays. The position of the hotel was stunning but everything else had gone downhill. Booked through Booking.com who didn't pass the request for the room we required though to the hotel although the staff soon rectified this. The hotel is outdated and getting dilapidated. The shower in our... More

Having never stayed anywhere in Shropshire before I think we may have been spoiled by the Longmynd Hotel, it's definitely on my 'must do again' list. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. Views from our balcony were gorgeous and the outdoor swimming pool an added bonus after a scenic walk. Even if you don't... As a child visiting family in Shropshire Ihad a dream that one day I would stay at the longmynd hotel. Well last week for me and a friend that dream became a reality. We booked into a twin room on the 1st floor and realised that a room with a balcony seemed unoccupied. Not, thinking for a second that we... More

We booked to stay in one of the hotel's lodges. It seemed to be reasonably clean but most definitely in need of a revamp. The paint was peeling both inside and out. The kitchenette counters were permanently stained. Have to admit that the bed was perfectly comfortable. After staying just one night, we were in a local pub and were... More

I am a North American who enjoys going on organised walking holidays (hiking) with a co-operative called HF Holidays out of England. This is a walkers hotel and so is not designed to be The Hilton. Rather it is a well-run, older facility that is designed to serve its main clientele who are outdoorsy people. In our case we had... More
