Staff really friendly and helpful. Room seemed fine at first but realised it was damp and felt cold. The wall near bed felt damp and paint flaking off...three outside walls! Bathroom large but extractor not efficient so damp feeling made worse. Noise from children upstairs jumping up and down so noise would be an issue if staying longer. Having stayed... More

We booked a night in the Affcot Lodge in June 2015. Booking.com listed it as a four star hotel which it most definitely is not. The hotel is in a very remote area. There is one Italian restaurant opposite it but it did not look appealing. It was not an unpleasant experience but definitely would not give it four stars... More

We have used the Affcot Lodge for a very long time. We usually make a stop for a meal whilst travelling from south Wales to north Wales. The bar is area is very inviting, there is a good selection of ales and the menu is quite varied and reasonably priced. Having had good experiences of the Affcot we decided to... More

Basic standard accommodation and eating; clean; good beds; very friendly staff; large carpark; located in the countryside and convenient location for touring the area; might stay there again if in that area (this was our second stay there)

Stayed for two nights and really enjoyed it! The food is delicious and there is plenty of it. Rooms are comfortable with everything you would need. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I managed to leave my keys and they phoned me as soon as they found them and posted them no questions asked. Highly recommended!

I am currently staying at the Affcott Lodge. As I write this at midnight, I am listening to a very inconsiderate guest who banged his/her way into the room and now has the TV on at an unacceptable volume. I won't be getting any sleep tonight either. There is no soundproofing to this building - I can hear every footstep,... More

Popped in for a meal while staying down in Church Stretton. Went their about 6 years ago when it was under different management and with a different name funnily enough. Arrived about 6:15pm on a Monday night, so it was quite quiet, but found a fantastic spot next to the log burner, which was unexpected for this type of property.... More

The Affcot Lodge is a really nice place to stay , The food is great, the staff are really friendly and helpful ,breakfast is amazing . However the room we were in tells a different story ,small room with what I would describe as a small double bed if there is such a thing not very comfy either ,.The ensuite... More

Thank you for your feed back we welcome all helpful comments. On the comment about room charge, we charge £75.00 Double Bed and Breakfast and £55 single Bed and Breakfast, not sure where you got the idea from we charge £35 because this is not the case. 103 is one of our smallest rooms but is still an adequate Double.... Called in here today for a snack on way back home to Cheshire - so long drive ahead. Food lovely and good value for money. Good service from pleasant staff. I had emailed ahead to check that they would be open and got an immediate response. Did not tip as I believe that a good review is worth far more.... More
