We love visiting quiet spots and this place is right up there. We rented the Old Curing Station and although Ian and his family live upstairs we were allowed our privacy whilst still having pleasant chats with his family. The trek to the road is part of the attraction and although the weather was mixed it is what we often... More

Beautifully situated, peaceful break, no intrusions, stayed at bothy, like a log cabin in the trees, had everything we needed, even Internet on a remote island, toilet, shower, little kitchen, barbecue, free shellfish thrown in too, owner takes you over with your luggage, wonderful floating bridge to walk over to island, it was s delight staying there, one night wasn't... I have to admit that I booked this holiday thinking I was booking Garelochhead - my Scottish geography letting me down!! However, even though it was an incredibly long drive from Hampshire, it did not disappoint. After an intresting drive up and then walk down to the cottage via the floating bridge we were in heaven. We stayed in the... More

We stayed here for a week, This is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The house has everything you could need for a home away from home, so next time will not pack quite so much!. Ian meet us at the dock and transported our excess luggage over to the island, which is a unique way to... More

We decided to visit Scotland this summer and to take our Rib boat with us. I had stayed on Dry Island before many years ago but my wife had not, although we visited Ian two years ago to go on one of his fabulous Shellfish Safaris, while camping in the area. Ian was fantastic in making sure all the arrangements... More

We had high hopes for Dry Island and it did not let us down. Ian and Jess were very welcoming, Ian also collected our luggage and took it to the Island in his boat. Dry Island is amazing and Otter Cabin offered us privacy and an opportunity to escape from the rat race. The views from the cabin are fantastic... More

We stayed at Otter/Creel Cabin for a week in April 2015. After our luggage being collected at the 'pier' in the village, I got a boat ride over with Iain while my husband took the car back round and brought the rest of our stuff down. The walkway to and from the car is steep and across a few rocks... More

My boyfriend and I visited Dry Island in January. We were very lucky with the weather as it was pretty mild and even sunny for the most part. But as long as you're prepared, this place is a must visit. We arrived quite late, so had to trundle down the hill and across the bridge in the pitch black, which... More

The island is really a very special place with fabulous views across the bay of islands and wooded headlands. However, on arrival you have to be prepared for adventure and ready to commit your baggage to a small open boat in uncertain weather, as you will probably not want to be lugging it all the way down many steep steps,... We loved every minute of our stay on Dry Island. The historic cottage had everything we needed for our week's stay. The cottage was a little damp as you might expect from a cottage of this age but there were plenty of heaters to make it warm and cosy. Ian and Jess were very welcoming and helpful and their two...
