The home-made bread at breakfast is exceptional but you need to be there among the first ones otherwise you will not get it! This location offers wonderful view on sea and countryside, the hosts are very nice, the food simple but tasty.

Thanks for posting your review. Serving home-made bread at breakfast is a new venture for me and I hadn't quite anticipated how popular it would be! I keep upping the quantities but on this occasion it seems there still wasn't enough - sorry to those who missed out! It's great to know that my home cooking is appreciated. I cook... More

The road to reach the lighthouse is very narrow and Dangerous. Breakfast and dinner are very poor. No televisione in the room. No hairdrier in the room. No wi-fi in the room. No Tea facilities in the room. Check-in at 5 p.m. is too late for us. They obliged us to reserve and pay in advance for 2 nights. But... More

It was a marvellous experience. Calm and beauty are the best words to use. The meals were very tasty. Just an advice, bring your own bottles of mineral water, because it is a little strange to drink water from the tab as it is natulaly colored.

Thanks for your review! The water here is from a private supply and is coloured because of the peat in the surrounding countryside. We call it 'raw whisky'! It's double filtered and UV treated, and it is tested regularly by Highland Council and confirmed as safe to drink. It tastes delicious and is very soft, but if you want to... More

This place is totally exceptional. THe environment was beautiful, the couple hosting us very nice. We saw dalphins nearby the hotel. Our room was nice, overlooking the sea and the sheep. This was very romantic; simplicity, originality. PERFECT. We will never forget our wonderful stay there.

A very brief trip, to this working lighthouse on a remote Scottish headland, fulfilled all our expectations. Gairloch, a premier centre for whale-watching, golfing etc is within easy reach, and our switched-on hosts provided a comfortable stay, with a range of international guests of all ages. Maybe, an out of season visit, to experience some wild weather, could be on... More

My husband and I were thrilled to book a night at Rua Reidh as a part of our honeymoon in Scotland. I don't believe single night stays are typical, but we snagged the last room available for just one night between other bookings (though we would have loved to stay longer!). The booking process was smooth, the hosts provided ample... More

Thank you for choosing to stay at Rua Reidh on your honeymoon, and for your kind review. We're glad you enjoyed it and we'd love to see you again, for a longer stay next time! By the way, just to be pedantic for any cetacean experts reading this, the whales you saw were minke whales - we don't get humpbacks... More

Scotland's west coast has stunning views to offer, and it was a real pleasure to stay at Rua Reidh Lighthouse and enjoy some of them. Nice room, good food and the company of guests that could have been your friends. The drive to and from is a small adventure in itself.

As reviewed several times before the location of this exclusive B&B ist unique with stunning view of the sea and the possibility to see sea mammals like otters, whales, dolphins and seals. The self cooked dinner from Tracy was fantastic with a not less fantastic desert. We also apreciated the very familiar atmosphere and that Roger and Tracy formed part... More

Terrific location and First Officers (separate) accomodation was generally very good for a lighthouse cottage. The website general main page mentions access to laundry facilities but as it turned out they are apparently only for guests staying ( guesthouse) and not for the separate First Officers cottage. This we learnt was by the laundry facilities not being mentioned on the... More

Potential guests can read the other reviews that we have received and make up their own minds, and any sensible reader will immediately see that this review says far more about the reviewers than the hosts. These people treated us like dirt from the moment they arrived and we had several issues with them during their stay, resulting in us... More

A truly spectactulor location for anyone interested in Scottish wildlife. All the rules at this place were a bit stressful to us as we had brought along our little toddler. We also heard the owners complaining about another toddler guest that had been too loud for their taste. So don't go here with small children.

Thanks for posting your review and for your advice to other travellers with small children. I'm glad you enjoyed the fantastic location and wildlife of the area. We're not sure what you mean by 'all the rules' and we have emailed you separately to ask you to expand on that. The only thing that we can think of is that... More
