Stayed here for one night recently. Didn't spend much time at hotel as I arrived late and left soon after breakfast - this is no reflection on the b&b. Lots of positives - friendly staff, free wifi, lovely tasty, filling breakfast. Only comment/ grumble relates to decor, which was a little bit dated and old fashioned. However, this is being... I spent 5 nights at the Saddle and was well satisfied with my stay. One of the best things was the warm greeting from Barbara when we arrived; she had loads of information on dog-friendly eateries around. Although we arrived before noon, she had our room ready. The breakfast choices were a table-load of cereals, fruits, milk, and juices; the... More

We had a nightmare getting to Alnmouth as the trains were delayed and the proprietor of The Saddle came out to collect us from the station as we were going to be late for our dinner sitting and there were no taxis available. Going above and beyond that required of a guest house and were very grateful. Shown to our... More

A return visit to the rugged Northumberland coast, this time to Alnmouth, an unbelievable £7.50 train ride away from Glasgow due to early booking. On a voucher deal, we opted for the executive room at the Saddle and found ourselves in what amounted to a flat. A spacious bedroom with really comfy bed and a TV, a separate sitting room... More

The b&b is lovely. We had a room at the back and it had a huge bathroom too. It was lovely and quiet too. The room had everything we needed and it was no trouble to the owner when we requested more milk. The breakfast was great too and really set us up for the day. It has free parking... More

We stayed at the last minute, after a booking at another place in the village fell through, so were glad they could accommodate us at short notice. The room was okay, and the bed comfortable enough, but it could probably do with a bit of freshening up. They've used the space available quite well, but the en suite bathroom is... More

Stayed in April when we were blessed with glorious sunshine and the first (possibly the only) glimpse of summer. Love Alnmouth with its wonderful beach, tea shops, pubs and restaurants. Have visited previously but this was first time at The Saddle and it certainly won't be the last. Stayed on a 2 night Living Social break in the suite but... More

We were given a gift of a 2 night stay at the Saddle for Christmas. I've never been to Alnmouth before and I can highly recommend it. The Saddle is a lovely family run establishment and we had a wonderful stay. We were in the executive suite which was lovely and spacious with everything you needed. Breakfast was lovely and... Friendly helpful staff clean Good breakfast They also host a non traditional seafood restaurant called Hooked, which had great ratings on here separately. Which we didn't try as one of our party doesn't like seafood, however the look and the feel and layout looked very high quality. overall I would recommend the Saddle

We stayed during a cycle from Newcastle to Edinburgh. Its a comfortable ride to hear - just over 50 miles. Smart, clean accommodation. 10% discount in Hooked restaurant that leases the dining room and kitchen each evening - well recommended. Hearty breakfast catered for gluten free no problem. Would return
