My wife & I plus 'designer' dog booked for 3 nights starting 13th July. Barbara gave us a lovely welcome and pointed out places of interest, pubs and eating houses. Our room was comfortable with TV, tea & coffee and a nice spacious bathroom en suite. As a bonus, we had a limited sea view. The location is first class,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in July and it suited our needs really well. It is perfectly located in Alnmouth, and the fact that it has it's own car park a real bonus. The room was on the first floor overlooking the main street and the room was quite large with a 2 seater settee as well as a... More

For the money this place needs to try harder or lower the price. The bed is old and tired, the shower tiny, the bathroom small. It's clean enough though and the reception chap was friendly and helpful but just don't have high expectations, which the price suggests. Top marks for the breakfast and the lady serving it although this would... More

We booked this for one night an wish we could have stayed longer. Barbara is very welcoming and knowledgeable about local area. We really appreciated our dog could stay at no extra charge. Alnmouth is lovely and the saddle makes a great base to explore this lovely area. We will definitely return and would recommend to those who appreciate traditional... More

Stayed for 2 nights last week in the executive suite. The suite had a separate lounge and T.V.and also a T.V.in the bedroom. The bathroom has a large bath and a separate shower! Whatever you needed was in the rooms i.e. iron, hairdrier, ironing board etc, etc. Will definitely stay here again when we visit this lovely seaside town.

Our stay at the Saddle B&B was really nice. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our room on the top floor. The bed was lovely and very comfortable. We only stayed the one night but we said whilst there we should have booked at least 2 nights and plan to do so in the not too distant future.

Stayed here for one night recently. Didn't spend much time at hotel as I arrived late and left soon after breakfast - this is no reflection on the b&b. Lots of positives - friendly staff, free wifi, lovely tasty, filling breakfast. Only comment/ grumble relates to decor, which was a little bit dated and old fashioned. However, this is being... I spent 5 nights at the Saddle and was well satisfied with my stay. One of the best things was the warm greeting from Barbara when we arrived; she had loads of information on dog-friendly eateries around. Although we arrived before noon, she had our room ready. The breakfast choices were a table-load of cereals, fruits, milk, and juices; the... More

We had a nightmare getting to Alnmouth as the trains were delayed and the proprietor of The Saddle came out to collect us from the station as we were going to be late for our dinner sitting and there were no taxis available. Going above and beyond that required of a guest house and were very grateful. Shown to our... More

A return visit to the rugged Northumberland coast, this time to Alnmouth, an unbelievable £7.50 train ride away from Glasgow due to early booking. On a voucher deal, we opted for the executive room at the Saddle and found ourselves in what amounted to a flat. A spacious bedroom with really comfy bed and a TV, a separate sitting room... More
