A double room so small it should only be offered as a single. Directly over entrance to bar so very noisy till late. Space at one side of bed is so narrow that you have to walk sideways to get into very uncomfotable bed, with central heating pipes running along the floor -yes, the floor, not the wall. No wardrobe... More

The staff are very friendly and helpful and we would highly recommend the restaurant downstairs, great menu and great food. However the accommodation upstairs was dated and dirty with black mould throughout the bathroom and bedroom window. The beds didn't have valence sheets, dust was present on all skirting boards and window sills and the lighting was poor. The overall... More

We called in for a drink on Sunday night. Love the improvements to the bar. They were busy so couldn't get a table for food so asked for some crisps or nuts. They don't do crisps but the new owner asked if hand made crisps would be ok. We said fine and he went off to the kitchen and within... More

Ideally situated in the little village of Alnmouth, just down the road from Alnwick, where. a short stroll from the inn took you to a beautiful long sandy beach. The people at the inn were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and clean and comfortable. Our dog was not just welcomed, but also no charge for dogs here... More

On arrival we were upgraded to the family room to accommodate our 2 dogs (as it wasn't booked) at no extra cost. Friendly greeting by the owner and her little pooch. First impressions left us pleased. The room was a little out dated in relation to decor, and the en suite has no window however the room and en suite... More

Room was far better than I had expected though probably a touch on the small side for a long stay. Breakfast was very good, with order taken previous night and cooked specifically for you. The kippers are worth having. Better than any I have tried before. The hotel prides itself on fresh local food so probably the kippers are smoked... More

This is not a hotel but a pub with rooms. There was no reception and we had to wait a long time to check-in whilst customers were served drinks at the bar where loud music was playing continuously. Our room was directly above the bar and, had we stayed, the loud, thumping music would have made it impossible for us... More

Having read some recent reviews had me wondering. Staff were perfectly fine and always polite. Room itself was good (seagull) although I did not appreciate people in the beer garden being able to look directly in and the piped music downstairs thudded away. Breakfast was ok. Free Wi-Fi was a plus.
