Stayed here on 12 July for a one night cycle stop as we were cycling from Berwick to Sunderland. We chose this hotel as it had safe parking for cycles. We checked in at the bar and was basically just handed the room keys. We stayed in a family room called Lapwing it was very tired to say the least... More

Very dog friendly. Alnmouth is a beautiful village with a brilliant beach and a lovely walk by the river called Lovers Walk. Booked a twin room for just the one night. The twin room had been made up with the beds put together to make a double. Becky offerred to separate the beds and reinstate room as it had been... More

A delightful small hotel in a beautiful out of the way location. Happened upon it by chance - surrounded by river and vast beaches (loads of terns on sands and fishing, inc sandwich terns). I was very fortunate to have the family room (Kittiwake) at the front, which was spacious and very comfortable. Some might not consider it smart enough,... More

We were assured that if we arrived before 6:45pm our cycles would be locked up on arrival, the hotel had a 'large table' in the dining room and were unable to lock our cycles away for 2 1/2 hours in the mean time we had to leave them on the pavement outside secured with a cycle lock. There were roughly... More

We chose this Hotel because it stated in very positive terms that it was 'dog friendly'. Although our two dogs were allowed in the Hotel and our room, there was no facility for taking the dogs out for obvious needs withouy having to walk a considerable distance to the the beech. Not at all convenient if the need comes in... More

We stayed here on a Saturday night for our wedding anniversary. We had visited previously but primarily chose this B&B because they offered a one night stay on a weekend. On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome and were shown to our room. There was plenty of information provided about the local area which was helpful. We were impressed... More

Stayed here for 2 nights beginning of May. Our room was adequate, with the mornings getting lighter earlier, darker curtains or blinds would be useful. No hairdryer in room, I managed but this might be a problem for other people. We were able to take our dog for which no extra charge was made, thank you. We had a nice... More

My wife and I, plus 2 dogs, had such a good experience of the H & A when we stayed here 5/6 years ago that we've always meant to return - and eventually we did, 10 days ago, but it was a mistake to go back. The staff are still as friendly and helpful as before, dogs are still welcome... More

The modern and upmarket feel of the downstairs bar and lounges is not reflected in the upstairs accommodation. Having said that the room, Curlew, was adequate and only spoiled by having a frosted glass window, making it feel a bit like sleeping in a loo. The ensuite bathroom itself was small and the shower took some considerable time to deliver... More

We stayed at the Hope and Anchor at the end of last year and enjoyed our stay so we went back again in March with another couple. We were pleased to see that it was being decorated and look forward to returning later this year to see it completed. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. No... More
