Arrived late in the evening, nowhere to park, the 19year old manager said we could have his place when he went home shortly after we arrived. This was a very disappointing return trip. Alnmouth itself is a gem but as for the Hope and Anchor, we shall never return again. The room was so small that my partner burnt his... More

This was a jolly little B&B with a fabulous location, a few minutes from the sea. Extremely good value when we stayed. Unfussy, comfortable enough for a good night's sleep, whilst providing those little extras such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Ate at their Italian restaurant, which was good fun with a warm and pleasant atmosphere. I would... More

Just returned from three days at hotel. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was great. Perfectly situated for visiting Howick gardens and long walks on a pristine beach. Would we return? most certainly.

Newly refurbished with a roaring fire to warm us after a long walk on the beach, this cosy pub was a great first impression. Would the food live up to its ambience? Absolutely yes! A novel idea to serve mini roast joints on a wooden board for you to carve yourself meant we had a choice of lamb, beef and... More

Stayed one night at the hotel. Staff friendly, atmosphere good. The hotel bar has been refurbished and has a really relaxed feel about it. The evening meal we had was good as was the breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend.

Stayed at the Hope and Anchor for a birthday flit on the 31st January 2014. Paid approx £50.00 for a double for one night. We didn't want to pay a fortune as we weren't getting there till late Saturday Night after finishing work. We had a small bedroom with a small bathroom, but to be honest we weren't bothered, it... booked in for one night but quickly changed it to two - excellent value for money with friendly staff and very very good food. I fail to understand how people can right poor reviews about this friendly hotel we have no reservation in recommending it to anyone - we will certainly be back!! David and Marjorie

Stayed here just one night with my partner on valentines day and there was literally nothing to fault. We wouldve stayed longer if we could! Great value for money, rooms were spotless and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Perfect stay and definitely want to return.

Lots of noise in my room music thumping out until well gone 11.30pm. If you want an early night forget it especially if your a family. Warm room on arrival however heating tuned off at midnight and I woke up t 4am cold. Not a bad breakfast served by an eastern european. Not a traditional pub more like a family... More

Stayed here with a group of friends after visiting nearby Alnwick gardens, We were given a reduced rate because the bar is being completely renovated. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who dished out the room keys randomly .We were then shown to our rooms through the building site that was the former bar. Our room was Puffin overlooking... More
