This hotel tickes all the right boxes for holidays with your dog's, it was amazing to be able to eat in the restaurant with our cavapoo Ruby by our side. The owners are now refurbishing the hotel ready for the coming season. We give the hope and anchor 10/10,please keep up the great atmosphere and friendly feel. See you next... More

We stayed for a night, the room was just a little bit tired but very clean, It is our understanding that the rooms are going to be updated over the winter so no real issue. They were well supplied with little essentials. The location was great a nice little village with excellent walks. Breakfast was good, just a pity that... More

We retuned for 2 nights, we have stayed a couple of times with our dog and love that the beach is just a few minutes walk. From beginning to end our stay was fantastic, the staff are wonderful and go to so much effort to make sure you are happy and welcomed. Adam especially went out of his way to... More

superb location right on the high street, just as you enter the village. there is free parking outside (if you can get in, but we have never had a problem) all downstairs has now been beautifully decorated and added an even better vibe to an already superb place. have also been informed that they are totally renovating the bedrooms from... We called in for Sunday lunch yesterday and ordered the carvery of 3 roasts, beef, lamb and pork. The waitress was very pleasant taking our order and we did not have too long to wait before the meal arrived. The generous roasts were served on a wooden platter with a carving knife (a very nice idea!) They were accompanied by... More

Stayed for three nights with a small golf society. Owner is quite forward looking..has turned part of the Pub/Hotel into an excellent Pizzeria..whole ground floor of the premises have been extensively modernised..tastefully done. The upstairs rooms are perfectly adequate..clean, but will apparently be completely refurbished over the next month or so. The menu is brilliant, with specials each day..very reasonably... More

I was in room "Tern" for 1 night while doing Coast & Castles Cycle route. The room was small, tired & in need of a good clean. The bathroom had a moldy damp smell. The Pasta Carbonara I had for my evening meal, however, was beautiful. The breakfast was also nice. I booked the room in January & informed the... More

We looked for somewhere for Sunday lunch in Alnmouth, and to be honest most of the restaurants only seemed to have snacky type meals. We looked into the Hope and Anchor to be greeted by a very smiley young lady and shown to a table. The decor was surprisingly modern for an old building. The carvery was fantastic with some... More

We stayed at the Hope & Anchor a couple of weeks ago (Aug 2015) and got a great deal for 3 nights bed & breakfast. All the rooms are named after sea birds (ours was 'Teal'). The room was fairly small but it had plenty of storage and was warm and comfortable. The free wifi is not great and the... More

When you arrive at the hotel, the first battle is finding parking (not something the hotel can help with, but be warned - we parked perfectly legally on both nights and received a charming note from the Alnmouth welcome committee). However, once you're in, you are directed through the restaurant - which looks recently refurbished and is quite smart. The... More
