Nether Grange, a former Granary, is in a wonderful location facing the sea. Although the service was generally very good, the menu and quality of food was poor and not of the standard of other HF holidays. The vegetables were over cooked and jacket potatoes had been reheated- possibly left over from the day-time menu of the Dandelion Cafe. The... More

We were staying there on a HF walking holiday. We had a lovely room with sea view. Everything about the place was good. Excelent food plenty to eat and drink. It runs activity holidays so you need plenty to eat. Even though i was walking 7 miles a day I still put weight on. It was a very convivial holidayWe... More

I stayed here on a walking break which I have done many times before. However I did think the quality of the meals was was not as good as it was 3 - 4 years ago. I had to send scrambled eggs back one morning and received back a fresh plate which was inedible. A few years ago you would... More

I am a regular reviewer and review good and bad experiences so do not use trip advisor to "moan". I have read many of the reviews of this property and must have stayed at a different location or was it because it was just an overnight stay and we did not get to meet the wonderful staff. The only person... More

What a great place to stay . Just had a week there , it was excellent . The staff couldn't do enough for you . You could control the heating in your room and thus turn it into a sauna when it turned cold and clothes needed drying. The food was excellent . The location is great , looking to... More

We have just stayed one night, not as part of a walking holiday but to go to a wedding nearby. The location is stunning, stones throw from beach and we happened to get a sea view, which was lovely. The hotel was a bit rough round the edges, but our room was clean and comfy and we slept well. No... More

We recently returned from a week at Nether Grange. We booked through HF Holidays who operate the hotel/guest house. Because we have enjoyed simillar holidays elswhere we knew what to expect - sharing tables for meals and the "country house" style indeed that is part of the charm of this type of holiday. We upgraded to a premier room which... More

Having read that Nether Grange was akin to a Youth Hostel I was a little concerned before we checked in but I should realise by now that TripAdvisors reviewers are liable to have their weekends ruined by the pettiest of details. It was lovely. A really beautiful building with an incredible view. I've uploaded a picture of our room view... More

Our group leader had a phone call on the way home to say I`d left spectacles behind. When I got home I asked if they would send them on & I`d reimburse postage etc. After about a fortnight I had heard nothing so I sent them a stamped addressed padded bag with a request could they pop them in post.... I thoroughly agree with other comments on the good food and friendly staff at the Grange.. Few problems though, there is no parking for the Hotel and you have to take your chances finding street parking. This may mean a bit of distance between the Hotel and your car. Not too happy with the room either. There where holes in... More
