Booked in to here for two nights. The room and en suite was just lovely. Everything you need. The Sunday roast is a must! Lovely place to stay and a 5 minute walk from a beautiful beach. A great place to get away from it all.

We had a lovely bank holiday weekend in Alnmouth stopping at the Red Lion Inn. This was our second visit here and this time we booked on line choosing Room 6 which was fantastic. It had a king size bed, large wardrobe, lots of tea and coffee and an excellent shower cubicle. The room is in an adjoined annex building... More

We live local to this pub and planned a nice evening in the bar area which ended up being spoiled by 4 dogs that began to fight. Why do pubs allow dogs in areas where food is served? It was both unpleasant and unhygienic.

We went to Alnmouth for an event. We stayed two nights, mid August, booking in for dinner Saturday night and Sunday lunch. Our room (No.2) at the front of the Red Lion overlooked the church and its grounds on the other side of the high street, despite it's location it was quiet, spacious and very comfortable. With a king size... More

As a family of 4 we took the family suite of two rooms at the top of the building. This had two separate bedrooms which share a huge bathroom (which included a large corner bath). We could even see a sliver of sea from the window. Luckily the church clock bells cease after 11pm! We ate dinner both nights in... More

We stayed 5 nights 27-31July, twin room at the front of the Red Lion. The car park entrance is very narrow and tricky with cars parked on either side of the entrance, anything larger than a modest family/people carrier might find it too narrow leaving the limited main street parking in Alnmouth the only option. Room was comfortable and clean... More

The Red Lion is a small pub hotel with an amazingly good restaurant, and very friendly staff. Our room was really nicely fitted out, and so quiet and comfortable. The location is excellent for easy walks or challenging ones, and the golf course looks good too. Can't fault our stay, and will definitely be back

sunday 26th july our family met up for a weekend in Alnmouth Northumberland. We reserved a double room and a family room. WOW! The family room was actually a suite with two seperate bedrooms and a very impressive large bathroom. The double room was huge and beautifully furnished , again with an impressive bathroom. The mix of rustic and contemporary... More

Visited this pub on Sunday for a couple of drinks. We sat in the lovely beer garden with stunning views over the estuary. It was extremely busy due to a local event but the staff could not have made us more welcome. We saw the meals being served and they looked great. We ended up staying and were not disappointed... My wife and I have visited Alnmouth many times for the excellent walking on the beach however we have just started eating here. We chose the Red Lion simply on spec but now it is a regular watering hole for us. The meals are simple and tasty served either in the bar where you can take your dog if you... More
