We were bought a voucher and decided to use it in the York surroinding area. Positives: Gorgeous room- we asked for king bedroom (she tried charging us extra £30 which I refused- then the boiler broke the week before our stay so I said we'll still go but only if we have that room) otherwise I don't think its worth... Arrived after a 2hr drive from Sheffield to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary which we had booked 6 months earlier to be told by Suzy that she had double booked and there was no room for us!! She sent us to her friends B&B in another village. We had booked a meal within walking distance of this guest house and... More

one of the best guest houses we have had the priviledge to stay at! The hostess Suzy Bell and her husband make one feel so welcome in their home, and what a home! beautiful place, with stunning rooms, that are cosy and warm and welcoming after a day exploring the surroundings. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts! oh! what a feast... More

Coxwold itself is a beautiful little village and Newburgh house keeps to the theme. It is just outside the village proper (which has a fab pub by the way), and right next to the priory. We stayed there on a gift voucher which we received as a present. We paid £40 top up for our room but we did not... More

We stayed there for one night using a voucher given to us as a present. Parking is round the side through some white gates but it isn't obvious on arrival. The place is very peaceful and is clean and tidy with a certain amount of charm, the gardens are well looked after and a haven for wildlife. The sink in... More

Visited to go to a wedding next door, and it is a beautiful property indeed. The location is ideal if you are at a wedding at the priory, just a brief stagger back to the House is required. It's about a 5 minute walk into Coxwold, but its a nice walk, past a lovely lake. The welcome was a bit... More

My wife and I have just returned from four splendid days stay at Newburgh House. From the moment of booking through to the warm welcome we received when we arrived contacts were efficient and friendly. Given the time of year, with darker evenings, we decided to opt for a half board arrangement and we are very glad we did. The... More

A beautiful place with very welcoming hosts and everything about our stay was top class. The rooms were great with plenty of space, even our bathroom was the size of a large room. Breakfasts were cooked perfectly and served efficiently. The location is perfect for a quiet country retreat, can thoroughly recommend this if you want somewhere away from the... More

We stayed at Newburgh House for 3 nights recently, when having a break in Yorkshire. The area is lovely and an excellent pub is in the village, where we ate on two evenings. We had the extremely large room at the far end of the upstairs corridor and were really comfortable. It really is big, with a large heavenly bed,... More

We booked four rooms as a family party attending a wedding at the neighbouring Newburgh Priory. We received a warm welcome from the little dog, Maisie, and from Suzy who was always happy to give advice on local pubs and restaurants and on interesting places to visit in this beautiful area. Both the house and the large garden are really... More
