It's a unique treat to stay in a national treasure owned by the National Trust. Braithwaite is a 17th century farmhouse where Charlie's family have been the tenant farmers for three generations since the late 1940s, raising sheep and cattle for meat and, lately at least, horses for fun. We spent two nights there in October, a time when the... More

We have just had two nights at this beautiful National Trust property. You feel very privileged to be able to stay there and although is is full of original features and feels very historic the beds are very comfortable and the bathroom & plumbing were certainly modern! Breakfast was excellent and Vicky was a warm & friendly host.

We stayed at braithwaite hall in july ( sorry only just got round to writing this review) what a beautiful historical place this is. We stayed in the panelled room with a four poster bed I can honestly say the room was huge I don't think you could getva bigger room if you tried. Vicky the hostess was just such... More

Having recently stayed in the four poster room I was taken back by the grandness of the room. The room is tastefully done with excellent views of rolling countryside. Vicky ensured that my stay was perfect even providing recommendations on where to eat. Even though I was travelling alone I was made to feel welcomed. For breakfast I opted for... More

We stayed at this inn in a beautiful area of the Yorkshires for two nights. It is on a working farm and the grounds are beautiful. You can walk across the street for a short hike through a beautiful pasture filled with grazing sheep. The room was very nicely decorated and immaculate and had a stall shower. There was a... More

We had high hopes for this visit as we had read so many favourable reviews, and the two days we spent there even exceeded our expectations. The house is wonderful, the food was out of this world and the kindness of our hostess couldn't have been surpassed. i would recommend this to anyone and we will certainly be visiting again.

We spent 2 nights here recently. We booked the largest room which has a four poster bed and is huge! Beautiful house, lovely location if a little off the beaten track. Vicky was the perfect host, very friendly and helpful, even bringing us a jug of fresh milk to use in our tea. As I said the room was huge,... More
