Stayed in the self catering apartment for a week for the Richmond Walking and Book Festival. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The views were fabulous and the owners friendly whilst unobtrusive. The apartment had a good range of facilities with a starter log basket for the wood burner and an extra plug in heater in the kitchen. Braithwaite... More

Booked a couple of nights at Braithwaite Hall just after our wedding. Was such a great place to get away from everything. Stunning surroundings and the Hall itself was beautiful. Our host could not have been more helpful; providing a brilliant, locally sourced breakfast each morning and doing her level best to take the chill out of the beautiful, four... More

Beautiful place to stay for a relaxing break! Our room was very grand and the lounge was lovely with a big open fire! The owner was lovely and so helpful and made us a beautiful breakfast! Would definitely return!

Property owned by the National Trust and tenanted to Vicky and Charlie, who farm there and run a fantastic bed and breakfast business. Only three or four rooms, we had the superior double. Award winning breakfast, sausage, bacon and black pudding were outstanding, with eggs from the farm. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely accommodation, modern bathroom fittings but room still... More

A stunning Jacobean National Trust property run by the third generation of the same family. Outstanding hosts are Vicky, a keen rider and Charlie, who farms the land round Braithwaite. It is set in one of the most beautiful and peaceful locations in North Yorkshire, with spectacular views of hills and Dales and peacefully grazing sheep, with a moor rising... More

I am honestly say that this is the only place I have ever stayed in that exceeded all expectations. Me and my boyfriend stayed in the four poster room for a night, the room was impressive to say the least. The views are amazing, it's so peaceful listening to nothing but the birds tweet and the sheep bah from the... More

Stayed just one night whilst touring North of England and Scotland. Beautiful room with a very comfortable bed and the nice touch of chocolates and port. Vicky made us so welcome, the breakfast was perfectly cooked and nothing seemed too much trouble. We would love to come back and stay longer as we really didn't get enough time to explore... More

I visited here with family to look at the house. We have ancestors that worked there so wanted to get a feel for the house and surroundings. There are only two rooms and the staircase on view but it is only £1 charge to visit for none national trust members. It was great to see the original oak staircase and... More
