A lovely location and ideal for exploring the dales- this really is 'God's Own Country'. Visited as a small group for an evening away treat. Staff were very helpful and amenable. My room was a little dated, bathroom tiny and a bit 'worn' but ok for an evening stay. We enjoyed our meal in the brasserie, food good and atmosphere... More

The pub is fantastic, it's comfortable, has room for friends, bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and the Guinness is the best I've had in England. The hotel, well it needs a little work. The mattress was far too soft and thin - I could feel some springs (room number 1, top floor), and the curtains... More

Recently did the Tour de France Grand Depart - Day 1 route on bicycles over a two day period with 8 others and their family members. We had a great stay here and the new management team did a fantastic job looking after us, they could not have been more accommodating. The staff were flexible with our large group, including... We had stayed here back in November, when it was under the old management and it was fabulous, so we decided to take my Mum and Dad there to celebrate my Mums 70th Birthday. Middleham is a beautiful village, in Yorkshire and The White Swan was the same as we remembered it. It is under new management now and they... More

Its 3 years since our last stay here and we were looking forward to an Easter weekend away for the stable open day. At the time of booking we were told we would have a nice room with Laura Ashley furnishings so we booked 2 nights stay. Check in was ok but when we got to the room the first... More

We booked this hotel as a very last minute extra date to our short break in Northumberland. Only a small double room left but we took it. The room was adequate for 1 x night only. The staff are all without exception very friendly and welcoming. We dined in the brasserie and the food was of an exceptional quality and... More

Just spent Tuesday night there in room 16. Brilliant. Meant we could see all the horses passing starting at 6.10am. Anybody who doesn't like racehorses must be crazy going to Middleham. Had the Bellypork for dinner and fruit crumble for desert. Yum Yum. Superb. A personal thanks to Jane who helped to make our visit well worth it. Yes of... More

Stayed for 5 nights for work. We booked out nearly all rooms. Rooms: Most rooms were great. They are currently doing up the least few but when booking out nearly an entire hotel you expect to not be quite as good as the others. They do like to have the heating on (not a problem as you can easily turn... More
