Only had one night at Drakestone House, but wish we had stayed longer. We were made to feel very welcome and the host lit a lovely fire for us on arrival and we were served drinks and lovely cookies. I felt so relaxed, I fell asleep! The room was beautiful with an amazing view of the garden and the shower... More

The best garden I've ever seen seen in a B&B. And I've been in quite a few. The room was clean and the bathroom had recently refurbished but not in one of those terrible modern styles, but in line with country decoration. Free mineral water, cookies, etc available at the room. A very good experience.

Drakestone Country House is a an absolutely charming B&B in an equally charming setting. We stayed for one night while on a cycling tour of this beautiful area of England and all six of us agreed it was one of the best B&B's we'd stayed at. The owners simply couldn't have been more helpful without being in any way intrusive,... More

We just don’t recognise the previous and rather baffling negative review (more shabby than chic) and our recent stay at Drakestone House couldn’t have been more different. We spent two very relaxing days there at the end of April 2012 and we have absolutely nothing but praise for this delightful house. It is a really special place. The welcome was... More

We were lucky enough to have stayed at Drakestone House last weekend. It is full of character, charm and beauty, being a much praised Arts and Crafts house of circa 1910 and hardly changed since. Our hosts were charming and looked after us so well. This may not be a place for you to stay if you are achingly trendy... More

We unfortunately had a disappointing stay and it was only after our visit that we realised that both reviews for this B+B were written a number of years ago. Drakestone House is placed at the end of a dark driveway and when we arrived all was pitch black and the front door difficult to find. Our room was cold and... More

Spend three of our honeymoon-days at this beautiful house, giving us unexpected moments of peace and comfort. From our (german) point of view, Britain at its best, as far as style, politeness and outstanding hospitality are concerned.
