Vivien is the perfect Cotswolds host! She prepares a breakfast fit for a king. Yew Tree Cottage is beautiful and a perfect base in which to explore your surroundings. Having Gully and B meet and greet you is an added delight and for those nervous of dogs rest assured these two labradors are very placid and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed... more

We've been to Yew Tree Cottage many times and we'll return as often as we can. The hospitality, food and rooms are delightful. Vivien is very kind and welcoming - it's the Cotswolds at its best. more

Thought the cottage and area were gorgeous. However, we were very disappointed by Vivians manner. She was snobby, and aloof, making us feel uncomfortable. On arrival she did not even pretend that we were welcome. Her facial expression said it all. She asked us to move our car from the drive for no particular reason very shortly after arriving and... more

The previous 22 reviews are all good, and tell a lot about Yew Tree Cottage, so I won't duplicate them. My wife and I stayed four nights in December 2008, in the “Beamed” bedroom.. a huge room, with a private bathroom just across the landing. We really enjoyed our stay, it felt as if we were staying with an old... more

We visited Yew Tree Cottage for a chilled, romantic weekend away during the final weeks before our baby is born and found the cottage, garden and village so picturesque and peaceful that we felt totally relaxed straight away. Our room was a good size, with a spotless modern en-suite bathroom with a fantastic array of lotions and potions. There was... more

My boyfriend and I booked in to Yew Tree Cottage for a two night break. We just wanted somewhere 'away from it all' and Yew Tree Cottage certainly ticks that box without being too far away from the main attractions and amenities. We felt really relaxed during our stay and even wet weather couldn't ruin our stay. All we could... more

We just returned from a two-week trip through England and Wales, all with stops at B & B's, and the Yew Tree Cottage was our favorite of the whole bunch. Vivien was a delightful host, and we enjoyed both her company and that of her two well-mannered Labs. The cottage is an authentic country cottage, tucked into the Cotswold hills,... more

I took my boyfriend here on 28th April for a birthday surprise. She allows arrivals from 5pm, so we went for a visit to Bourton on Water until then. I would highly recommend not attempting to find the cottage after dusk - it is in a remote village called Turkdean, which is easy to miss as although it's close to... more

What a pleasure! This is a magnificent place to stay, and a perfect base from which to explore the Cotswolds. A couple of warnings though! Firstly, make sure you have the right "Yew Tree Cottage". There are several and we accidentally booked at the wrong one, nearly missed out on what turned out to be a wonderful stay. Next, memorise... more
