Our large party had booked use of their private room which was not ready when we arrived. We ended up eating 45 minutes late, in the noisy main room, squeezed around tables pushed together, sitting on stained chairs, sending plates and cutlery back because they were dirty. The food was fine but rather salty for our taste. Table service was... More

When to wheat sheaf in Northleach after reading reviews, we were disappointed with, meal, most of the staff and furniture (had change chair that was not safe). Unfortunately a party of ladies were very noisy, which spoilt our lunch time. Perhaps would be better at night, not willing to risk it.

It was only ok! Not great food, not great service, very crowded and somewhat pricy - so overall just ok really, it didn't blow me away although nothing was specifically bad enough to complain about. I'm going again later in the year for a wedding related function and will hope to up my comments next time.

Stayed on a Saturday in January - the room was comfortable and nicely appointed, lovely claw foot bath and generously sized bed. We also ate in the restaurant that night and had a very nice meal. The breakfast on the Sunday morning was a nice surprise - top quality bread, ham and some delicious cheeses (depends if you are happy... More

Stayed 3 nights where we enjoyed so much excellent food diets needed when leaving. From arrival to leaving we enjoyed this beautifully decorated inn, could not fault the aesthetics, everything fitted perfectly. The ambiance was very relaxed and the service we received brilliant. Complimentary coffee in morning delicious, brought to room promptly and very ample in size for two people... More

My husband and I visited for a 2-night break for a special occasion, and really loved the character of this coaching inn. We stayed in an "excellent" room, number 9, which was elegant, large and had a beautiful, double-height bathroom with claw-footed bath and separate glass shower. The restaurant provided gorgeous food, both for supper and breakfast, and all the... More

My boyfriend and I had been looking forward to lunch at The Wheatsheaf for some time now so when we finally went along today, we were disappointed when we arrived and the place was packed with kids. We arrived 10minutes later than expected but were told our table still wasn't ready and to get a drink at the bar. After... More

First the positives: the location is very convenient, the inn has a very attractive, large outdoor eating area with plants and umbrellas. Although we did not eat in the restaurant, it appeared to be very popular and the menu looked very good. The room was clean and fairly recently updated. The negatives: although we were greeted in a friendly manner... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night on New Years Eve. Although we were not part of the main Highwayman Party (!) the staff made us feel very welcome and the service was excellent. The room had rustic charm and all of the amenities that you needed. There were no tea and coffee making facilities but the staff were... More

I visited The Wheatsheaf inn mid December for my partners birthday. From start to finish it was an amazing experience. Molly, the lady who helped with my booking and continuously emailed me back, as I wanted a specific room, was fantastic. I choose room 11, which was an excellent room, and it did not disappoint! It was a beautiful room... More
