We ate here last year in the dining room and loved it so much that we came back to stay, Whilst it is welcoming, friendly and lovely, it is in need of a spring clean and mend. Staff seemed stretched, especially at breakfast. I'd recommend that all areas on view are given a deep clean (food store on view included),... More

We last stayed here about 2 years ago and it feels like it needs a lick of paint a general sprucing up. We booked the 'good room' £120 a night. We last booked the nicer room with bath tub in room etc. the room was worn and layout odd. Sink in the room whilst shower and toilet were separate. The... More

We called in here for lunch en route back to Cornwall. The menu is mostly full main courses rather than snacks eg sandwiches. We had the fish & chips, which was the nicest fish and chips we'd had for some time. We thought £7.00 for a 175ml glass of wine rather expensive for a country Inn, but the service and... More

We loved our stay at The Wheatsheaf and are happy to recommend it based on our stay. The bedroom (#1) was great, very on trend decor (shabby chic) and a lovely large bathroom and tub. Yes, a lick of paint here and a waft of Mr Sheen there but all-in-all, a cool room. And the bed was delightfully comfortable, as... More

Even though we did not stay or dine in the restaurant one can see that this Inn in a lovely small country town is a little gem. Unfortunately we arrived just after 3 and the restaurant was closed so we settled for tea and scones in the lounge, the scones were nice but I thought the bill for a pot... More

This is a terrific Gastropub. The staff were very friendly. Three of us shared a châteaubriand steak which was sublime. The fourth had grouse - beautifully cooked. We would certainly go there again...highly recommended. The Sommelier was very amusing and helpful - great character and helped us choose a wonderful red wine - Primitivo - which he described as "bang... More

Stayed here after a wedding locally. Very expensive £142.50 a night. TV did not work, room very nice but no hair drier. Price included a very poor breakfast, just tea and cereals. Cooked breakfast was £11 and had a service charge on top. I can only assume they need to charge this amount because they are in the Cotswolds and... More

I'd booked this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However, due to a serious family illness we couldn't go, so called them on the day to cancel. They said something like "we have a 72 hour cancellation policy so you'll have to pay". They did offer another date this month, but as I can't predict - and nor can the... More

Stayed her for one night and had 2 rooms for the 3 of us. Both rooms had a huge tub that filled quickly with water as the water pressure was impressive. Not shower in either room. The tub in room 5 was copper and really quite impressive. Bed was very comfortable and we had little snacks of peanuts, cashews, and... More
