DO NOT book this hotel for when the Farmers Feast is on unless of course you are participating. Our rare night away for my 40th birthday was spoilt due to this event. Having spent a lovely day visiting the local villages we arrived at the hotel to find a marquee placed directly under our bedroom window. Music, that was so... More

Stayed in the Wheatsheaf for 2 nights after my wedding. The room was expensive (180/night) but it is a beautiful cosy place with a stunning garden and nice food. Service is a bit rough around the edges but always with good intention! There are lots of nice touches which add a bit of luxury too. E.g. prosecco and a nice... More

Found this place coming back to London from Cheltenham and had lunch in there. It was beautiful outside and inside. Very efficient service and friendly staff. We had three fish dishes and on the three of them the fish was overcooked but otherwise we had a very great time.

We went to the wheatsheaf for one night in September. We bought our dog away with us (room 12) and he could stay for £10 pn. We first visited Daylesford farm about 15 mins away for some lunch, Daylesford os famous for its fresh produce and they have a shop in nottinghill (extremely overpriced) but a nice trip out. The... Went here because we found it on the mr and mrs smith website (that we use regularly & always had fantastic experiences) Hotel itself is cute & lovely location. However, the staff running it couldn't handle it!!! this is best showed by a Sunday night whilst having dinner, an out of control wedding party that weren't even all staying at... More

We stayed for one night as a treat - what a treat it was! Bar staff excellent, friendly service and up for mixing whatever cocktails you fancy (they're highly recommended). Dinner was fantastic with a wine list to match, the desserts were wonderful also paired with great wines... Highly recommend it as a gastro pub and fab place to stay... More

A very superior village pub. Well decorated and lit, also well trained staff, and perfectibly acceptable food. Nice comfortable feel to it on a very busy Saturday night, we booked late and could only get 6.30 to 8.15, which was fine for us. But did not feel too noisy nor crowded. Menu a little on the unadventurous side, steaks predominate.... More
