I had read about this place previously. So when we flew into Birmingham for a holiday on the Pembrokeshire Coast, this seemed like the prefect stopover. And it was! Great food. Nice staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Great decor...the perfect mix of modern and vintage. Only thing I'd do differently next time? Get a bigger room. The normal rooms are really awfully... More

We decided to spend our second wedding anniversary in the Cotswolds and found this place which was exactly what we where after. If you like old, quirky with a boutique touch this is the place for you. The bar and restaurant downstairs is vibrant, there is a lovely garden at the back and a cosy snug if you want to... More

Stopped in off the road for lunch on a Summer's afternoon. Most people, if not all, eating in the al fresco garden area; very pleasant. The menu has quite a range - you can get fish and chips for a tenner up to fancy steak for two for around sixty quid. We both had the set lunch - really good... More

Let's start with the positives...beautiful location, lovely interior decoration, good food! However some major negatives: There is no air conditioning in the room...it was absolutely boiling!! I'm not sure if the heat was due to being just above the kitchen, but either way...that was one uncomfortable night sleep. What didn't make the situation any better is they didn't have a... More

Bad experience is an understatement for our meal at this place. We chose a lamb dish for our meal with a medium glass of rose wine each. The lamb was full of fat and my husband's portion was inedible and hardly any veggies. When we complained, they condescended to only charge half price for one of the meals. On receiving... More

We popped in for a midweek supper and were not disappointed. The pea and broadbean risotto was delicious as were the meat balls. We treated ourselves to pudding and can recommend the sticky date pud with caramel sauce. Service was quick and the atmosphere in the dining room was nice. I look forward to going back soon.

We have eaten here before and had good experiences so we went back for a celebration meal, but we found the service poor ( 2 hrs from arriving to getting the bill, for a starter and main course ), and to be honest the cost fairly high. My partner had a cuttlefish salad, which was not wonderful , although my... More

Had the nicest time this weekend at The Wheatsheaf. We went with our 4 month old well behaved puppy who absolutely loved it; we had a dog friendly room with french doors out to a small garden which was perfect for the pup. On arrival there was a dog bed, treats and bowl waiting for him and he was allowed... More

This is more of a very nice pub with rooms. Decor of rooms is lovely (especially the bathroom) but some maintenance of our room was needed. The door was starting to rot at the bottom, the plugs in the sinks didn't work and the floor tiles on the step into the bathroom were loose. We went for the 'Excellent room'... More

Hard to fault, great service, rooms and quality for the price. Very enjoyable stay, with great food and beautiful village. Comprehensive wine list which is always a plus and good products in the room + huge bed. Would recommend, good for couples etc, less so with kids but no real problem.
