Total lack of customer service. We were treated as inferior customers; ignored numerous times at the bar even when there were no other customers waiting, asked quite coldly to move to make way for a regular customer (there was no reserved sign on our table and every other table in the room was empty ). Staff refused to engage in... More

Having read some of the other reviews I feel they are slightly harsh.... The hotel is 'bijou' but the space in our room (9) was well used... an amazing bathroom (roll top bath and separate shower) and a huge bed. however I do agree that having to ring for tea or coffee is slightly annoying. The little extras are quaint... More

You might be enchanted by the stylish makeover of this old hotel in pretty Costwold village of Northleach but, like us, you might not. The huge bed left little space in our room (number 6) for anything else except the in-room washing area with two wash basins and a generous shower. Fortunately the loo had a door. No wardrobe, no... Had a wonderful stay here - had room 9, which has a gorgeous huge roll top bath, as well as separate shower which was very powerful! Two large say windows in the room letting plenty of light in, spot on decor, we loved it. Food also fabulous as well as a gorgeous garden, which was perfect for drinks after a... More

If you're considering a stay at The Wheatsheaf Inn, you need to be prepared to spend some serious money to make it a pleasant experience! We stayed in room 3 (rated by the hotel as 'Good') but I suspect that you need to spend the extra money (£120 a night is apparently insufficient) for the 'Very Good' & 'Excellent' rooms... More

My girlfriend and I booked a room and a dinner the Wheatsheaf Inn on a saturday night. What I enjoyed: - A great room (we stayed in room 9) with lovely views on the beer garden, amazing ceilings in a huge bathroom with a high pressure water shower, a great big vintage bathtub, two sinks and some nice bathroom products,... We were disappointed since this came well recommended. We booked a table and they put us next to the kitchen in the path of people checking in both for drinks, dinner, and to stay at the hotel. My chair was continually bumped by wait staff and passersby. The wine finally came after we had our starters, and we noticed other... More

Wonderful food, (best devilled kidneys ever) and great service, its not the cheapest place you will ever visit but everything is spot on, good cider and a lovely garden out the back The only downside is it can get extremely busy

The service is very friendly and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is also lovely. The only grievance I had was that it was quite expensive however not unexpectedly so for a gastro pub in the Cotswolds. I had a great dinner and I will definitely come back!
