Magic. A traditional hotel from 60s 70s very out of date but amazing. Clean and tidy. Helpful nice staff. Views are spectacular. I woke up to hearing the sea and watching the sun rise. There is a lot of painting and works needed on this hotel. I loved it's smell and the old style it carried. Brown bath, big back... More

The staff at the hotel were really helpful, friendly and went out of their way to call us a taxi and reserve us a table. The hotel is rather old and outdated, but it was fine to just sleep for one night before we got on the cruise ship. The food was actually very good for dinner and it is... More

My room had a fabulous sea view, well worth booking! The hotel, especially the stairs and the rooms are in need of a renovation, the carpet is worn and stained. Electric appliances, lighting and en-suite would need an upgrade, too. The bar-restaurant and the breakfast room both offer a lovely view. Both check-in and out worked perfect. All staff were... Stayed for 2 nights in this period hotel. It's in serious need of upgrading and there were many areas where this was absolutely obvious. The bedrooms in particular certainly fall short of expected standards with broken cupboards and wardrobes. You don't need to be upgrading a room to have a decent mattress in there. The mattress in our room was... More

Me and my partner stayed 2 nights at the cliff. Food was lovely. Staff service was excellent. Views are incredible. The hotel is tired and needs a refurbishment but all in good value. Would stay again

This hotel has bags of character, the room we stayed in was light, airy and spacious. lovely high ceilings, big bay window and a beautiful view of the sea. It may need a lick of paint and a new carpet but the bedding and bathroom was clean and for the price we have no complaint. rather stay in this hotel... More

We spent one night in a big room with sea views. The hotel is old-fashioned but charming. It's really nice that someone has not modernised everything. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We left before breakfast so cannot comment on that. The beds were not fantastic but good enough for a night's sleep. The bathroom was absolutely fine... More

The hotel is not the Ritz, but is nice clean friendly hotel to stay in, with decent food at any time. The location is one of the best that you will find in any seaside town. The hotel is on an elevated possition from the sea front. A walk in any direction is great. For history buffs just turn left... More

No it's not the Ritz but nor are the prices. Yes, it could do with a lick of paint. Yes, the fixtures & fittings seem to be from the mid-80's. But you get what you pay for and for a cheap stop-over near the ferry terminal it was ideal. Everything was clean, the linen was fresh, the TV worked and... More
