Recently stayed in the Mayflower Suite for just one night and ate dinner in the Harbourside (upstairs) restaurant. As expected the room was large, nicely appointed and had great views. Complimentary soft drinks in the mini-bar were a nice touch. The bathroom was also huge although a little tired in it's overall appearance. The website describes this as 'possibly the best... More

We have been coming to the Pier restaurant for many years but after moving out of the area a few years ago it has been a while since our last visit. Word of mouth in the town is not as positive as it previously was about the Pier but we thought we would find out for ourselves. It was clear... More

This is a lovely sea front Hotel, we had room 2 , Fantastic view of pier and sea view ! It wasn't quite what I expected, but it was lovely clean room. Lovely touch I thought was complimentary soft drinks & water in mini fridge. The towels were lovely and soft & white , which was lovely, I like that.... More

My sons wedding reception was held here. Everything was immaculate, staff friendly, helpful, generous. Food delicious. Accommodation very comfortable . Wish we had stayed more than one night., Breakfast was very tasty. Any questions please ask. Definitely recommend venue and love to go back to stay again

Having gone to Harwich on a spontaneous trip we stopped here for dinner. We were greeted very warmly by a lovely Scottish lady. The food choices were great, my partner had steak whilst I had the morrocan lamb burger which came with taziki and hummous. The food came out really quickly and overall was a lovely experience, especially as we... More

We stopped in for lunch here on a Saturday around noon. The place was not busy. I don't know how they get away with charging exhorbitant prices for mediocre food. The service was good and the location is lovely but there are many other places to eat in old Harwich including the great pubs. Sav your money and go elsewhere.

We booked the Mayfair suite for a pre cruise stay. The plan was to arrive late afternoon, but unfortunately our plane from Dubai was delayed & then the M25, closed! We finally arrived at 9pm. The staff were very friendly & helpful, especially with our suitcases. The room is very comfortable & well appointed, with a good selection of toiletries,... More

Harwich was surprisingly quiet and as there isn't much competition for the Pier owned by Milsoms had a respectable amount of custom mainly due to a wedding. This is sold as an upmarket establishment and appears in a certain paid for Best in Essex magazine which is available at the hotel. Personally the downstairs appears more 3 stars than the... More

The pier is the nicest hotel in Harwich. It faces the harbor. The stuff is extremely nice and helpful. The rooms are well kept and extremely cosy. I come here for all my business trips and always amazed by the services and the rooms. It feel like little vacation. Exactly what you want, when on hectic business travel.

This hotel matches the standard of other Milsom hotels we have stayed in. The welcome was friendly and the room spacious and with a sea view. Complimentary drinks in the mini bar and aromatic toiletries. Dinner and breakfast were both amazing, excellent quality of local produce. The breakfast selection was outstanding, including freshly cut pink grapefruit, juice in little bottles... More
