Stayed here for one night in room 5 (purple room) and we found it lovely. The room was perfect for us. To be honest, more than we expected. Pub was very cute with very friendly staff in a lovely quiet location. I'd imagine it would be a lovely little stay in the summer as well with cricket being played on... More

I strongly recommend the Cricketers Arms for its comfort, cleanliness, courteous welcome, attentiveness of staff and food. Unfortunately, it has a weak point: poor selection of real ale and not kept well.

I had the dubious pleasure of staying at this hotel in a room that should not have been used for the night I was in it. It had to be deep cleaned apparently and I found the room smelly and the carpet still very wet from the cleaning. The staff tried to be helpful but they should have alerted me... More

Me, hubby, daughter & her hubby, stayed here for one night as an alternative to Quendon Hall 5 minutes up the road where we were attending a family wedding. The difference in price was between 30 and 80 for a double room with breakfast so a no brainer! Obviously not as upmarket but rooms were clean, tastefully furnished, bed was... More

We stayed for 1 night only, however, we would willingly return. This is a rustic type of gastro pub situated in an idyllic village location. We had lunch and an evening snack, both of which were well presented and delicious. Our room was clean, tidy and nicely furnished. The breakfast just before our departure was, again, well cooked and presented.... More

We were up for the weekend to see an event on sat eve. We had booked room 8 but got room 9 (at the same price!) which was so spacious and the bed was so comfortable. This room in the summer when people would be outside might be a problem, but in feb it was so peaceful with the view... More

Booked a very good rate to stay overnight before an early morning flight, so obviously dined in the restaurant. The last time we ate here it was a very traditional old English pub, however, we were seated in some clinical extension lacking atmosphere and character. The fire was just about going out when we arrived at 4, and expecting it... More

We booked the Cricketers Arms at the last minute as we were visiting the area. Excellent rates offered. We were given a nice room but they had forgotten the extra bed for my daughter. They moved us immediately and the room offered had a sofa bed in it. It didn't leave a lot of room when it was out. Room... More

we stayed here overnight with 2 other couples. There are a number of rooms to stay in, only a few in the house the rest are in little bungalows. I can only assume the poor reviews are from those staying in the house. The little bungalows had a very large bedroom with king size bed. Sofa and dressing table. Our... More
