We booked to stay one night for a wedding, location is really nice with views over fields in a nice little street, we were 2 min drive away from the wedding venue (parklands) It does seem a bit grubby in the hallways and our bathroom (room 2) was very old and grubby but the bed was very nice and comfy,... We stayed here en route to Italy in May as we needed a stop off but this was so much more. The location is great - overlooking the cricket wicket and we had a lovely couple of hours watching the players while we enjoyed a drink. Nice walks for the dogs within a few minutes of the hotel. We stayed... More

Arrived at the Cricketers at 6.00pm. The Junior Suite ( No5 ) was little more than a room with a sofa in the corner - not as shown on the their website. The bathroom was so small - the smallest we've ever been to. and , worse, grubby. In fact the hotel including carpets in the passageways was very grubby.... More

We went overnight on an offer which had Bed, Breakfast and evening meal included. This offer was very good particularly as there appeared to be no restrictions on the evening meal. We were placed in newly built rooms across the road from the main building. The room was nicely furnished if a little warm. A fan was provided and needed.... More

This was not a big room, the shower was not great, but the king size bed the One thing that will break even a short break was lovely, really comfortable. The only problem was we were almost late for the wedding we were attending as our room was not ready at 12 as agreed it was only just ready at... More

The Cricketers is classically located on a very pretty village green amid thatched houses and the cricket pavillion. The rooms above the pub were quiet and nicely decorated although the bathroom was of an unusual and old design. There was effective heating for which we were grateful. Staff were very helpful although wifi was an issue even downstairs in the... More

We stayed here in August last year for one night and had a really pleasant room and excellent lunch and dinner. We are just getting over a recent death in the family and thought it would be good to spend a night again in such a beautiful location and enjoy the luxury of good food and comfy room. Unfortunately we... More

I stayed here on June 12th for 1 night and thought what a great place to stay. The room was very nice and though expensive for a single occupancy, the location and the pub itself made it worthwhile.I must also say that I had a good nights sleep and the bed was very comfortable. However when I came to use... More

After our disappointment with our hotel in Dover on the way to France, we decided to move out a little and stayed at the Cricketers Arms in Rickling Green. It is a lovely place, the rooms were immaculate, the meal in the restaurant was super as was the breakfast the following morning. The staff were all very friendly and attentive.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cricketers Arms is the ideal place to stay whether you’re on business, travelling to the airport, attending a wedding or simply visiting the area. We have 10 beautiful, individually designed bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and lots of homely touches. Some are more modern, with contemporary furnishings and splashes of bold colour; others are more traditional, with antique pieces and soft, muted colours. All have really comfortable king or super kingsize beds, with good linen, luxurious throws and piles of cushions, as well as powerful showers, fluffy white towels and lovely toiletries. One room even has a stunning free-standing bath. There’s also a digital flat screen television, direct dial telephone and free Wi-Fi in every room to use during your stay and you can treat yourself to champagne and chocolates on arrival, too.We have a choice of rooms from doubles, superior doubles and twins to junior suites and family rooms – three have their own staircase up from the restaurant so you can put the children to bed and enjoy a relaxed supper. Eat, and sleep well and have a hearty English breakfast the next day. Enjoy great value too; rooms start at £65 for the night, with a family room costing £135, including breakfast. As well as being ideal for getting to or from Stansted airport, the Cricketers Arms is just a stone’s throw from Parklands in Quendon, so if you’re attending a wedding there and need somewhere to stay, just give us a call. We also have a big car park where you can leave your car for free during your holiday if you travel from Stansted. Stay one night with us and get your trip off to the perfect start, and if you’re back late, have a comfy night with us before heading home. We can book transfers for you. ... more   less
