To start with the good points: our room (1) was a generous size, and had access to a rooftop terrace, which I guess it hadn't been raining most of the time we'd have enjoyed more. We could see the sea in the distance when the rain let up. The en suite was a decent size with a good shower but... More

A flying visit to Lyme and the Mariners was just fine. Clean rooms, good facilities and friendly staff. The gardens at the rear are lovely. Sadly our stay was during wet weather so we could only admire from indoors. Free Wi-Fi on site. Good breakfast and nice to have boiled eggs with smiley faces on. Has its own car park.

It was a last minute booking but we were very happy with our stay at Mariners Hotel. Rooms were lovely - fresh but cosy. Showers were hot and the breakfast was sooo delicious! We came with two adults and three children and were made to feel very welcome. Free, easy parking across the road was a definite plus!

Very clean and tidy Hotel with own car park. Very helpful staff. There's only a small staff group so they have to rush around. Enjoyed the stay and the breakfast was well presented. Hotel is at the top of a large hill and has its own restaurant which is a bit expensive.

The hotel is two old cottages with historic connections to the Philpott sisters, Mary Anning, Jane Austen, and Beatrix Potter. It has its own car park for patrons and each room is comfortably furnished, including tea making facilities. The breakfast menu was varied and wholesome, with a good choice of hot food, as well as fruit, cereal and yogurts. The... More

We recently stayed for 3 nights at The Mariners Hotel and enjoyed exploring the area. Our room (11) gave lovely sea views. Because we knew that it was an old building, we didn't mind the low ceiling, sloping floors and 'bijou' en suite, and the room was clean and adequately furnished. However we found that the extractor unit from the... More

Clean and Tidy, not quite perfect, bathroom light not work, 1/2 a toilet roll, yesterday croissant for Breackfast, say something and it was replace or repaired, but should it not be that standard to start with, someone's cutting corners. Otherwise just basic

Very nice meal. My husband and I both had steak and it was delicious. The kids had sausages/scampi and chips. This came with a drink and ice cream for £7.50. Great service too. Only caution was the price. My steak was £22. Total bill £77.75. Bit pricey really.

We had a double room over looking the street. The bed was very small but everything else was perfectly adequate. The beer garden is not well kept but does have a good view. The staff are very helpful. The breakfast is very basic as is the general decor in bar and dining rooms. The smells from the kitchen come up... More
