Terrific tea room and specialty beverage provider. Popped in for tea, couldn't resist the sponge which was so light and tasty. They tease you with lovely local produce and offer a warm welcome. The Black dog was there and daft as a brush. Tasteful decoration, pretty gardens and nice loos make it a good place to chill out and be... More

Popped into the tea rooms for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. The soups come with excellent home made bread, everything is home made and the ambiance is friendly and welcoming. They offer a range of light lunches including specials of the da, along with cream teas and cakes. Has a seperate... More

I have frequented this tea shop on several occasions, so felt they deserved a review... I had a lovely cappuccino and a piece of their chantilly jam victoria sponge.. which was delicious.. and light. The service is very friendly and the owners are lovely.. everything is cooked from scratch by Rod.. such as homemade soups...etc.. I will definitely return

Came across this lovely little tea room whilst walking the dogs. The owners were so welcoming & friendly. We sat in the garden with the dogs and ordered our salads, one chorizo and one Apple and tomato with a side of patė and bread. We were so impressed with the giant salads and hunks of patè which were not only... More

We only nipped in out of the rain and we are so glad we did! After looking at the menu we decided to stay for lunch! The kids meals are huge, and with a free ice-cream they are brilliant value for money. My partner and I both had the 6oz burger - it was lovely and once again the portion... More

We were driving through to Lyme Regis and saw this lovely cafe and B & B, we just eat in the cafe, wow they have a lot of different teas, we initially stopped to have cream tea, but they showed us their specials, which was soups, we have the red pepper and butternut soup, all homemade with the yummiest home... Returned to the Old Black Dog last weekend, again we had a very enjoyable stay. The hosts Pat and Peter are wonderful, they are very welcoming, warm and genuine. This is a very traditional bed and breakfast, very homely and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent, freshly cooked and well worth waiting for. We look forward to returning again later in... More

Decided to visit Uplyme and came across the Old Black Dog and what a find. The homemade bread served with the pate was both delicious and large in portion, the chorizo salad was Devine. The views to the rear of the cafe were lovely in our elevated position. Friendly staff and choice of tea galore, surely there will be one... More

This B and B is run by a lovely couple who couldn't be more welcoming. Rooms are spotlessly clean and very well stocked. Beautiful area with dog walks on the doorstep and pubs serving good food within either walking distance or a short drive away. The tea room attached to the B and B is also excellent and we intend... We also used this as a base for Lyme Regis and River Cottage (see the Loricase review below, it's very well written and I agree with it completely). It is a little old fashioned, but very clean and Peter and Pat really could not be more helpful and welcoming hosts. We had a lovely stay. One issue is the walk... More
