If we could give these wonderful hosts, Pat and Paul more than five stars, we would. This is a gorgeous B and B, beautifully appointed with antiques and paintings. Pat keeps it fastidiously clean and the beds are really comfortable. Paul is a whizz in the kitchen and serves up a delicious breakfast: the pork sausages are outstanding. Any unusual... More

Very nice house in a very nice area. It was very foggy when we were here, so we couldn't always see the moors, but it was fantastic when we could. The walk down to the local pub was nice, as well as our breakfast in their dining room. Highly enjoyable stay.

When you walk into this beautifully maintained guest house you receive a very friendly greeting from Pat and Paul and Darcy the pointer. Our bedroom, with a view of Hay Tor, was decorated in blue and while and was so lovely and very comfortable. Breakfast is cooked with great care and is delicious. Anybody booking a stay here will be... More

This is a beautiful, quiet guest house on the very edge of Dartmoor. The tiny village hosts four great pubs with great food. The guest house had lovely flowers that brought in the May song birds late into the evening. The breakfasts were plentiful and made with care. The hosts were helpful in suggestions and directions for walks and sightseeing.... More

A really beautiful B&B! Clean and well looked after. Pat and Paul lovely people who take such a pride in their home and business. Highly recommended! Would certainly stay here again without a doubt. Thank you both for making our stay in Moretonhampstead such a pleasure.

My family and brother stayed here for three nights and could not have been happier with our stay. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms warm and clean and the breakfast very tasty. Highly recommended.

Stayed two nights in August a very good visit. Owners are very helpful and pleasant. Room we had had a great view and was well appointed. Bathroom rather small, but useable and spotless. Easy walking distance to the village shops, pubs and restaurants. Good secure parking for cars and convenient to room. So luggage does not have to be carted... More

We've stayed at Moorcote a couple of times now, and we would heartily recommend it to everybody staying in Dartmoor! It's a perfect Guest House, clean, quiet, comfortable, and hosts Paul & Pat go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible! Ideally situated just outside the centre of Moretonhampstead, it's just a few minutes away... More

Stopped here for 2 nights. A few pubs within walking distance. Lovely breakfast with Pat & Paul - chuckie egg & toast in an egg cup from their huge collection. Great location to access Dartmoor National Park, Tintagel Castle, the Victorian mine - Morwellham Quay, and beautiful views of the moor as you drive.

I needed a base for my visit to Dartmoor Park and instead I found a haven at Moorcote Country Guest House. Here it helps to understand that I was traveling without the benefit of a car which meant taking a "Country Bus" from Exeter to Moretonhampstead. Yes, it was a bit of a trek from the bus stop to the... More
