We stayed at the Long House for one night in January 2015 and after a long drive down and arriving quite late, couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome. We needed somewhere to stay that accepted dogs and our lovely old lurcher was made a fuss of by owners Peter and Lorely, who clearly love animals and understand why sometimes... More

We spent one night at The Longhouse which is full of charm and has a lovely homely feel. Peter and Lorely could not have been more accommodating especially their kindness in affording us a late check out to allow us to walk our dogs and come back and change for a funeral we were attending. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.... More

Brilliant welcome. Spotless room and bathroom. So, it's small, says another reviewer, The people who inhabited Longhouses were in general. I'm 6'3" and am a big lad, it was fine for me. I will go again. The shower was brilliant and so was the bed. Breakfast was superb, anything you wanted basically. The garden was tranquil and pleasant to sit... More

My wife and I had a couple of days away from work. One night on our own and one night with our grandson. The premises were beautiful and very well looked after. Our hosts were very welcoming and seemed very sincere in the hospitality. The breakfast area was filled with local information, history, geography and walks. The breakfast was well... More

I stayed here recently and highly recommend it. The couple that run it are friendly, the bed was comfortable. Most impressively, I left my cuff links in my room, and they posted them to me for free without my even having to ask. I was very impressed and highly recommend.

We arrived at the Longhouse late and exhausted , 2 muddy girls nearing the end of our JOGLE cycle and were lucky to find this gem of a B&B. Our room was cosy and clean with a large shared bathroom - a bargain at £55 for the 2 of us. Breakfast was magnificent with great choice of continental as well... More

We stayed 2 nights at The Longhouse and it was a really pleasant stay. The house itself was very cute and full of interesting objects, books, maps and pictures. Our room was clean and comfortable with nice little extras like coffee, tea and hot chocolate making facilities in the room. The breakfast was delicious. Loads of choice and even the... More

In the heart of Moretonhampsted we enjoyed a modern room and facilities in a charming historic house, ideally located to explore this Dartmoor town. The Full Monty English breakfast is first class and sets you up for a day of exploring or walking. It was a joy to meet Lorely and Peter who made our stay easy and delightful. So... More

On route through the West Country we stopped over in Peter & Lorelys fine historic cottage. Easy to locate and set off the road accessible through its own passage we were transported into another time. Cosy bedroom and charming reception room full of local maps and interesting books on Dartmoor. Peter was a mine of information offering local walks right... More
