We had a truly relaxing stay at The Normandy Arms, The rooms were tastefully decorated, a very comfortable bed and a large en-suite shower room. Following a good night’s sleep – an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, from fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, eggs benedict to full English! The perfect start to any day! The location could not have been... More

We stayed 4 nights here recently. My wife and i were very impressed with the standards and quality offered. We had a very comfortable bed/room with standards meeting up to website claims. The hosts (Reka & Andrew) were warm and receptive with first class service. We had excellent meals in the evening and an equally substantial breakfast set us up for our day.We would... Dropped in for an early evening beer which was served way too cold and way too expensive. Obviously catering more for foodies there's no excuse for not serving the beer at the incorrect temperature. Neglected beer garden across the road obviously once had a good selection of herbs but someone's hacked them to bits.

Dear sir Sorry to hear that you were dissapointed with your beer, our cellar is kept at a temperature of 12 degrees C which is the optimum temperature for ales sorry you felt this was too cold. As for the herb garden i would like to point out that it is a well used herb garden, we take herbs fresh... More

Went along to The Normandy Arms for an evening meal last night, not expecting much only to be very pleasantly surprised on every level. The decor is warm and inviting just like the landlady and the food was probably one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Every course was beautifully presented and faultless - I can... More

This is such a wonderful change to the soulless hotels available. The rooms are well decorated, clean and extremely comfortable. The restaurant provides a beautiful selection of food to choose from prepared by an outstanding chef. Even the breakfast is perfect. The level of care and attention by the staff/team is faultless. This is a fantastic find where you can enjoy... More

I kid you not, this place is the best kept secret in the South West. The food is just perfectly wonderful: in my estimation the chef Andrew could go and cook anywhere he wanted to go and I dine in what are regarded as the best restaurants in London. My room was as comfortable as can be, not a speck... More

A perfect hideaway that turned out to be an excellent break. Andrew and a Reka made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and clean with everything that we required. The evening meal was fabulous right through to the homemade Christmas Pudding Ice Cream. We will definitely be back again, maybe for their Sunday Lunch Club. Rose... More

We were in Devon for a few days and chose this B&B based on Trip Advisor reports. Blackawton is a small village, away from the hustle and bustle of Totnes and Dartmouth. After staying a couple of nights and having our evening meal there we resolved to return again next spring when back in the UK. King size room with... More

Was staying locally for a couple of nights and decided to try the Normandy Arms for an evening meal with my wife and 16 year old son after finding good reviews on Trip Advisor. Between us we had ribeye and fillet steaks and also fish and chips - I also had woodpidgeon to start. All meals were excellent. My wife... More
