Thank you for taking the time and effort to write a review of your experience with us. We are pleased to read you enjoyed your stay, and the wish that you could have stayed longer. Love your room tip! Unfortunately there's only two rooms at the back with that view, early booking is advisable for these rooms! We always love... More

We stayed here following a visit to Woodlands, which is a two minute drive away. The traditional exterior of this Inn may reflect the bar but certainly not the rooms, which are modern and spotlessly clean. Our en-suite appeared to be recently refurbished to a high standard with a large walk-in shower unit. The family room was a decent size... More

Thank you for taking the time and effort to write such an in depth review. As you've pointed out the traditional exterior reflects the bar, some love, some hate this fact. Traditional pub bars are a dying breed. We apologise for the noise from the bar but we do try our best to make sure noise levels are kept to... More

Myself and my husband stayed here on the night of our wedding . The cost of the room was £90 for bed and breakfast . The room was small uncomfortable although the ensuite was newish . The room had cobwebs all over . The bed was uncomfortable. In the morning breakfast was a whole new experience. We had no warm... More

We as a team are very disappointed that you felt your stay was so awful. The room you stayed in is an adequate double as rated, our Visit England inspector came shortly after your visit and was pleased with our newly refurbished ensuite and the cleanliness of all rooms and ensuites, he found no evidence of cobwebs in any rooms.... We stayed here just before the May bank holiday for 2 nights and couldn't have been made more welcome. The room was clean, as was the ensuite, and we had a terrific view over the Devon countryside. We ate in the bar both nights, the food was good and the service excellent. This was the type of traditional english pub... More

Thank you for taking the time to make a review. We're very pleased to read your positive feedback. Great tip to prospective guests - rooms 1 & 2 have the countryside view whilst rooms 3 & 4 have the village view. The George Inn team and the local parishioners do try to make visitors feel welcome so I'm glad to... More

We stopped at the George Inn for two nights last week and felt very welcome throughout. The room was clean, bright and comfortable. The ensuite must have just been refitted - lovely. The breakfast was great - a really good choice including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs alongside the traditional breakfast. We ate in the pub both evenings with friends... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience. I'm very pleased to read that you enjoyed every aspect of your stay. The ensuites haven't just been fitted, they're about 18 months old now but we do pride ourselves on the cleanliness within housekeeping so I'm glad that it has paid off. We have to thank... More

Friendly staff, very comfortable room with super bathroom, generous supply of coffee, tea etc.. Breakfast was excellent. We didn't eat in the evening but the menu looked very good. Only ten minutes drive to Dartmouth--would be happy to return.

We stayed here overnight to visit friends and spend time in Dartmouth. it was conveniently located for both and we did not have particularly high expectations for The George but we were very pleasantly surprised. Six of us ate there that evening and we all enjoyed it so much that our friends returned on their own the next day. The... More

Thank you for making time to write a review of your experience at The George Inn. We were very pleased to hear we exceeded your expectations. We try very hard to manage peoples expectations. We stayed for one night last weekend- myself, my husband and our 6 month old baby. I was attending an event nearby and Ruth and team were very helpful in making this possible, serving food and drinks to my husband in the room while he babysat - and even coming to collect me from my party at nearly midnight! Thanks... More

Myself and a friend stayed here in early June. We were made very welcome (despite our late arrival!). The food was exceptionally good, home fare. A very BIG THANK YOU to Ruth, Merry, Sue and Matt...nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Good food, a comfortable bedroom together with a price that didn't break the bank.
