My wife and I stayed here for two nights earlier this month. We stayed in Tregirls room. The Pros The room was comfortable and furnished well and in some style. The bathroom had recently been nicely refurbished with large deep bath and a separate shower. The bed was comfortable. The views over the estuary was OK given our room was... More

We stayed at Rick Stein's St Edmunds House last week - well appointed rooms with sea views albeit across the chimney tops of Padstow Harbour which is three minutes walk away. Very comfortable accommodation with Parking!!!

Have just returned from 2 night's stay at St Edmond's House. Although our room (Trevone) was very pleasant, there were hairs on the bathroom floor (not ours!) as well as in the large bowl of sea shells by the window! There was dust everywhere. The views are completely spoilt by the ugly Metropole Hotel next door whose kitchen fans were very... More

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at St. Edmund's House, this time we had a downstairs room with a sunbathing deck area, last time we were upstairs, the room had a Juliet balcony, we felt the upstairs room was possibly slightly larger but all the rooms are generously sized. It is a lovely calm and... More

We have stayed several times at St. Edmunds House (Constantine Room) and are returning in a couple of weeks time. We have always found the accommodation and food of an excellent quality and the house is a real home from home. However we do feel sorry for a previous reviewer who found it such a hard task to walk 30... More

Lovely accommodation (bit of a damp smell, though) with fab views and lovely accessories. The fact that there us no food provided on the premises gives the freedom of choosing where to eat, but breakfast a bit closer (like in the same building) would be better. Gorgeous bunnies in the garden!

We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. I would love to give St Edmunds 5 stars but there are 2 fundamental faults that cannot be ignored. Firstly you have to go outside to get to any eating establishments which when your paying this level of money for a room I can understand the comment about glorified B&B. The trouble is as we all know the Cornish weather... More

We had a ground floor room opening on to the private garden. The room is stunning and decorated simply but beautifully with very high quality fittings and furnishings. It looks gorgeous as you arrive and never failed to live up to the look in the comfort of the room and bed and the fittings in the bathroom. I would have... More

Stayed Friday and Saturday nights in St Edmunds. Excellent room with a great bathroom. Have been to Padstow many times but never stayed at a Rick Stein establishment till now - I actually was hoping that I could downgrade it (he seems to be too successful for my liking) but it was actually very good. Lovely rooms, quality fitments -... More

An excellent choice for those down in Padstow for a gastronomic weekend in the Rick Stein empire. Tregirls is a spacious ground floor room with its own small patio and sun loungers: colonial shutters and well equipped and newly refurbished bathroom with power shower and "egg" bath: the hand of Jill Stein with understand. Comfortable, quiet and with its own... More
