2 nights here. The situation of this outreach of the Seafood Restaurant allows a decent view over the roofs to the Camel estuary and beyond. It is a short walk from the restaurant, where breakfast is served, with a lovely little garden, outdoor seating, and very convenient car parking. Our room, 'Polzeath', has direct access to the garden. It is... More

The accommodation was everything we look for in a weekend getaway. The room is spacious, looking out onto the garden and then beyond to the Camel Estuary. Luxury 4-poster bed, with high quality linens and a great mattress. My personal preference is for more solid pillows, but that's not such a big deal. Great bathroom, with a deep egg big... More

As you would expect from the Stein collection of properties, this is another example of great attention to detail. The property is beautifully furnished with a feeling of luxury (but not ostentatious). Of all of the Stein properties we have this to be the quietest, and for that reason would be our first choice out of the properties. It is... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights earlier this month. We stayed in Tregirls room. The Pros The room was comfortable and furnished well and in some style. The bathroom had recently been nicely refurbished with large deep bath and a separate shower. The bed was comfortable. The views over the estuary was OK given our room was... More

We stayed at Rick Stein's St Edmunds House last week - well appointed rooms with sea views albeit across the chimney tops of Padstow Harbour which is three minutes walk away. Very comfortable accommodation with Parking!!!

Have just returned from 2 night's stay at St Edmond's House. Although our room (Trevone) was very pleasant, there were hairs on the bathroom floor (not ours!) as well as in the large bowl of sea shells by the window! There was dust everywhere. The views are completely spoilt by the ugly Metropole Hotel next door whose kitchen fans were very... More

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at St. Edmund's House, this time we had a downstairs room with a sunbathing deck area, last time we were upstairs, the room had a Juliet balcony, we felt the upstairs room was possibly slightly larger but all the rooms are generously sized. It is a lovely calm and... More

We have always found the accommodation and food of an excellent quality and the house is a real home from home. However we do feel sorry for a previous reviewer who found it such a hard task to walk 30... More

Lovely accommodation (bit of a damp smell, though) with fab views and lovely accessories. The fact that there us no food provided on the premises gives the freedom of choosing where to eat, but breakfast a bit closer (like in the same building) would be better. Gorgeous bunnies in the garden!
