This was our first stay at Althea Library and we had a wonderful experience! Jan and Geoff are friendly and welcoming hosts. The rooms are very clean and well equipped with lovely toiletries, a large selection of teas, coffees and biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge! The breakfast is excellent and choices include smoked salmon and scrambled egg, kippers and... More

We've stayed in Althea Library many times and are always delighted afresh to be there and to unwind in its lovely, welcoming atmosphere . I think I most look forward to the special pleasure of pretty rooms, the special "smell" of the place and the feeling that it has been there for ever. There are always tiny improvements each visit,... More

Jane and Geoff were our gracious hosts for two days at Althea Library, a guest house that used to be the town library. It’s only a short walk into the heart of town, the marina and many restaurants. Padstow on the north coast of Cornwall is known for the gustatory delights of chef (and real estate investor) Rick Stein. Not... More

This guest house is excellent with everything you need - a wonderful breakfast - a comfortable bed and friendly hosts. The rooms have so many added touches such as real milk, biscuits, sweets and glasses and everything is spotless. I heartily recommend this as a holiday stay. An added bonus is that there is off street parking - unusual in... More

I would highly recommend this beautiful B&B. Jane and Geoff made us very welcome and the rooms are exceptionally clean and have every attention to detail covered. Breakfast offered a wide range of options, and the full breakfast was well cooked, plentiful and delicious. We stayed in the green room and our friend stayed in the yellow room, we were... More

The owners of this gem of a B&B have shown a great attention to detail, with many nice little touches adding up to a great experience. We stayed in the Yellow Room, the least expensive, and were pleasantly surprised with the space and facilities. For instance, instead of a sachet of instant coffee in the room, there was a cafetiere... More

I would agree with all the 5* reviews on here, they really have thought of everything and there are so many little touches that made our stay, such as a fridge, real milk, different sized glasses, plenty of tea bags, quality toiletries, etc. We stayed in the Puffin suite which is a bit more expensive but then you have a... We stayed one night when walking the Coastal Path. One of the best B&Bs we have found, does every thing right. NB. Access to the car park is off Church St (not High St) approached from the top of the Town.

Lovely place to stay in Padstow. Easy access and very friendly owners. Good information and the room had everything you need from a b&b. Everything was very well kept and exceptionally clean. Highly recommended.
