This was my favourite of all the hotels I stayed in on our week trip to cornwall - and we stayed at some really lovely places. I loved Padstow as a location it has some lovely quirky shops and gorgeous restaurants (mostly rick steins!) he also has some quaint little delis and patisserie shops too. The hotel room was gorgeous... more

Spent two nights at the Seafood Restaurant Padstow for my wife's birthday, the rooms and views where fantastic. Went for dinner the first night to the Bistro which was fine, friendly service and food average. The second night we went for dinner at the Seafood Restaurant and were very disappointed. Very cramped in the restaurant, service just ok, food was... more

We didnt stay at the hotel but we did pop in for lunch. The food and service were superb, yes its not cheap but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. I would recommend it highly for that special meal. more

We have just stayed for a night (and evening meal) at the Seafood restaurant and I think some of the other reviews on this site must be referring to a different place as the experience we had was superb. The room (St Breocks) was excellent and the bathroom was absolutely immaculate. To be honest when you can pay the same... more

As well as being Rick Stein's renowned flagship restaurant, the Seafood Restaurant offers a choice a luxury rooms perfect for a special break away. My room was, I think, one of the smaller ones. But it was beautifully furnished, comfortable, welcoming, and equipped with everything you would need. The bathroom was immaculate, with pristine white tiles, quality wood flooring, nice... more

We stayed in the Rick Stein Cafe - the Thrift room which was lovely and good value for money. Small, but cosy with Molton Brown toiletries and an LCD screen all you could want for a short stay. The breakfast was included and very nice with good healthy choices on the menu. In fact we wished we had ate there... more

Didn't stay here , but had lunch with friends. Very expensive for what it was. Average £30 for a main course, food ok, but expected alot more for the price. Decor very plain nothing special and tables squashed in together, no chance of privacy!!! Staff mainly foreign students, more interested in getting a tip. Plenty of other places to eat... more

We were looking forward to eating at the Seafood and I was unprepared for the massive influence Mr. Stein has on Padstow, it might be good, I cannot comment on that, but I did hear locals tell tourists the the Chip Ahoy was better than Stein's Fish and chips. The food at the Seafood was not bad, the quality of... more

My husband and I stayed at the Seafood Restaurant Hotel for our Anniversary. We have often dined at the Restaurant and Bistro but this was our first stay at the Hotel. The food was up to its usual high standard and the service excellent! I can't think where the other reviewers have been eating!! We are always delighted with the... more

Second time at Rick Stein's seafood restaurant (went in June 05) and a totoally different experience. Lunch in June 05 was fantastic - quality of food, wine, service and relaxed atmosphere second to none. Went back for dinner last year and had a very nice but rather different experience. Felt like we were on a production line - no drink... more
