We booked via Rick Steins efficient online service. The room was one of those ultra modern contemporary ones, where in practice the detail has not been thought through! Example, no soft night light for bathroom use in middle of night - the only option is blast of bright LEDs! Footpath to main hotel was a shock as it was filthy... More

The rooms are very well appointed with very comfortable beds. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The public rooms are pleasant with good atmosphere. All very clean and we'll cared for. Oh and the brekkies are good too! Go for the kipper!

We stayed at Bryn cottage and had our little dog stay too. She was given a chalkys pals blanket which was a nice touch. Us Humans got a hamper with lots of goodies in. The cottage is lovely and very quiet, being up a small side street but very close to the harbour restaurants and shops etc. was lovely having... More

We booked two nights in Prospect House, but experienced problems when checking in as the room we had booked had been given to another family. We were therefore offered the other family's room, which was in St Petroc's and far smaller. This was not a good start and we felt that the manager's explanation for the confusion over the rooms... Nice room, well laid out for us with our young daughters sharing the sofa bed. Perfectly located for the town. Interiors are very good, excellent decor, nice lighting, fab bathroom. My only criticism is that it's time to update the mattress. It's not the worst I've slept on by far - but it was no longer entirely flat and would... More

Had a separate room, with a staffed bar for our party of seven. Most pleasant atmosphere with first class service. Surprised that on the Mains, there were only Lemon Sole and John Dory. Had expected a bigger choice. Ended up eating a very splendid steak. Good experience but pricey.

Had a fantastic meal today with the family. Had the Mackerel for starters, Hake for the main and the sticky toffee pudding for desert. Without exception each course was perfect. The sticky toffee pudding was so good I almost had the lick the plate clean, did not want to show the family up so did not lick the plate. On... More

Ate here on a Sunday for lunch as a birthday treat while holidaying in Cornwall , it is a little bit expensive but the food esp the John Dory was lovely . The service is good with out being too obtrusive and the flavour of the food was lovely , overall we all left feeling full up and satisfied with... More

We stayed in Padstow at one of Rick Stein's accommodations for 3 nights. We stayed in the Penrose Suite at Prospect house, which is attached to St Petroc's Hotel. As with most accommodation in Padstow it is positioned down a tiny little alley way just up the hill form the harbour. The room was large and spacious with a beautiful... More

We decided to break-up a campervan holiday by staying here on our way to St Ives. We stayed in one of the 'Cosy Rooms' (there are three standards of room to choose from) which included views of the hills and harbour. Our room (St Issey) was decorated beautifully with some lovely details (we are now coveting the entire decor in... More
