And, as this was our 10th visit, we cannot compliment the staff or cooks enough. Yes we know the Met' is a little "tired" and yes the car park can be a squeeze but the positives outweigh all that. We met up with our eating and drinking and walking friends from the pointy end of the county and had another... More

Once again our stay at the Metropole was excellent. Staff excellent and friendly and aim to please. Food wonderful. Room had a great view over the Camel. There were refurbishments going on but there was minimal noise and no inconvenience. This is our third stay and will certainly go back.

I work in the travel & tourism industry, and so spend a lot of time hotels- around 100 days a year. I can honestly say that The Metropole ranks as one of the best I've ever stayed in. Unfailingly pleasant staff across all areas of the hotel, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Food of a very high standard, and... More

We have visited The Metropole 5 or 6 times before and never had a bad experience, and this was no exception. We phoned ahead to say that we would arrive around 11pm but actually it was nearer midnight but this was not a problem. The Night Porter (Aaron) was waiting for us and couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful.... More

This is the third stay we have had in a Richardson hotel and once again it was very good. We took advantage of one of their off season offers and as with the stays we have had at their hotels in Fowey and Falmouth the quality of the rooms were very good and the food, well, that was exceptional. The staff... More

we had a great stay ( B&B this time). The hotel is currently being refurbished, but the impact was minimal. This is a lovely place to stay and relax overlooking the town, with only a few hundred yards walk into town..

The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Padstow. The beaches, harbour, restaurant and shops are all within a few minutes walk. The hotel itself is good but is in need of a little TLC. The car park is also quite small & you may struggle to find a space at peak times. During our stay work was being... More

Friendly welcoming reception staff. Complimentary tea or coffee on arrival. Only stayed for one night, but it was a very pleasant night. Room was adequate size with all that was needed. It was warm and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. Good value for money. The only downside was... More

We first stayed at this hotel 43 years ago when it was owned by Trust House Forte. We returned three years ago and again last week. It isn't modern and the exterior looks a bit drab but in the middle of winter, I don't mind. I don't worry about a sea view either because it's dark when we are in... More

Spent two nights here and loved it! All the staff were friendly and helpful, the food (breakfast) was excellent (some of the tastiest sausages I have ever had). The hotel is not modern, the floorboards creak, the lift rattles and jolts but in many ways it's 'faults' add to the charm, one nod to the modern age is the modern... More
