The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring Padstow. The hotel is a bit tired though and I would consider it a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. Our room was spacious but not overly clean and our bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy. off street car parking was available. more

We stayed 2 nights at this lovely hotel in Padstow. We were given a garden room which had lovely views over the estuary. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We ate in the hotel conservatory the 1st night and the food was 1st class. The breakfastwas excellent and was served in the restaurant with lovely views over the... more

Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel furnishing needs up-dating. But was clean. Food in hotel restaurant excellent, better than Rick Steins Bistro by far and a more relaxed atmosphere. Would go back. more

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and tidy with a great view over the estuary. The food was brilliant well prepared and piping hot. Wide choice of menus. Ideal location for expoloring Cornwall. well worth a visit. Facilities were comfortable with enough easy chairs in the lounges for all the guests to relax. more

Just got back from a 2 night stay, had booked 4 nights, but so disappointed with the room,so leaved early, old and tatty, the sheets where like rags, arm chair dirty, very small room, booked back in june, so as to have a nice room. To expensive, we won't ever go back again. Last work, don't say at this hotel. more

This hotel is centrally located in Padstow and ideal if you intend to dine at Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant. Breakfast was great and you could dine while taking in views of the town. Dinner, lunch and light snacks were also available. Our room was comfortable and quite spacious and the staff friendly and helpful. Parking and wifi was available free... more

The Metropole has a wonderful position overlooking Padstow and the Camel Estuary with wonderful scenery, beaches and walks. The hotel is rather a grim and dated looking bit of Victoriana and the carpets in the main staircase and reception area are badly in need of replacement and the dining room needs the attentions of an interior designer. BUT the rooms... more

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife in Sept 2009. Had read previous reviews and was a little worried about the service, the rooms and also the food. Was therefore pleasantly surprised to be very warmly welcomed by the friendly check-in staff, who got us into our room very quickly and with the minimum effort. The room itself (No.... more

Our 2 day stay was booked several months in advance and we were looking foward to staying in a high standard Hotel with a high standard room, However the reality was very different. We had room 8 on the first floor. The room was tired and worn out and not particularly clean. The tiled floor of the bathroom had either... more

Have just come back from a 2 night stay and can only agree with other comments. Hotel in good location but that's the only good thing going for it. The Hotel needs a lot of money spending on it. The tarriff for Bed & Breakfast I thought was very expensive for the size of our room and the quality of... more
