We chose apartment 3 this time, which sleeps 4 all in one bedroom. It has a double and bunk beds and there was enough space for us (a 13 year old and 9 year old plus mum and dad). The apartment was clean and the minor issues we had were sorted out by John (the manager) quickly. A great base... More

My wife and 11 year old daughter stayed in Room 5 of The Oystercatcher for a week at the end of August 2014. The accommodation consisted of a bedroom, bathroom and living / dining / kitchen area. On arrival the rooms were clean and the housekeeper at the Oystercatcher had unpacked all our (Tesco's delivered) food and stored it away... More

We have stayed a number of times at the Oystercatcher, once in a top floor apartment but mostly in Room 4. The accommodation is always very clean, the beer is good and the food on the 'Specials' board is usually excellent. The bathrooms have all been revamped to a good standard. There is a shop just up the road where... More

Visited here on Friday 6th September to a fairly busy bar at around 4pm. Expected to stop for lunch with my wife though later decided against it. Upon arriving we stood at one end of the bar (all the seats were taken) and it took almost 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. Fancying something other than beer for a change... More

We stayed for 5 nights in a small apartment (no.5) during August. The location is fantastic and the views from the decking outside the bar are great. The room size was fine but certainly needed some improvements. The was hardly any pressure in the shower and took ages to even get my hair wet, the washing line above the bath... More

On a hillside overlooking Polzeath beach this pub has great views from the outside terrace and a couple of inside tables. It has a lively but friendly atmosphere. Food mainly consists of burgers and chicken but was all good quality food. Good mix of locals and tourists leads to an appealing venue. Well worth a visit.

I've been here several times with my family and have never been dissapointed with anything. Yes the food sometimes takes a while, but we have always been served with good, freshly cooked food. I'd rather wait for freshly cooked food than to be served something that has been kept warm for an hour. Remember - you are in Cornwall -... More

To start, the views were great, even on an overcast and stormy day. The food was served quite slowly, but the wait was worth it, as the Bacon and Cheese melt burger was well cooked and easy to eat. The staff were friendly and we found seats outside under an unbrella

I checked on the Oyster Catcher website for food serving times - 12pm - 9pm on weekends. Our family of 5 arrived at 5.00pm on Sunday for dinner and were told that food wasn't bring served until 6pm. When I queried this with the girl serving behind the bar, I was greeted with a nonchalant "that's how it is" attitude.... More

6 of us ate here on a busy Saturday night. Unfortunately, on the way in, my husband (who had our teenage daughters with him) had to tell a young lad about his language. He did apologise, so the incident was put down to experience. The staff were all lovely, happy and friendly even though they were so busy. Our food... More
