Rooms were up several tiny flights of stairs, but comfortable & updated. No view but small private patio. Dinner was very good--had Parmesan risotto which was the best I've ever had. Afterwards had drinks in the pub with friendly & hilarious locals.

We arrived in Port Gaverne in the early afternoon when many people were enjoying the view and a pint or two at the hotel. We drove around the narrow lanes near the property to try to find parking. We found a sign that said "parking for Port Gaverne Hotel" so we drove past it to find a gravel lot completely... More

We have just returned from a 4 day break at this lovely old Inn. Our last visit was 3 years ago and we were so impressed then by all it had to offer.Location, hotel, staff and food all being 1st class. Unfortunately, whilst the first 3 mentioned are still as they were the food menu is not. Both bar and restaurant offer the... More

We stopped and enjoyed a very refreshing and well kept pint from a friendly and ideally situated inn on the Coastal path. It was glorious weather so we sat outside but it was clear walkers were welcomed. Whilst we did not eat in, many of the other tables were occupied by patrons eating their lunch. The helpings looked large, the... More

My daughter and I arrived at the Port Gaverne Hotel on Friday, June 27, 2014 around 4 PM. We were greeted by several people sitting outside at the tables and chairs provided. Everyone seemed so happy and content, we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. We took our luggage to reception and checked in. Paul showed us to... More

I stayed for nearly a week in this fabulous little place with my sister and my mom. It is right next to (and a short walk to) Port Isaac which is the setting for the Doc Martin series. The setting is so magnificent, you can almost see the Cornish fishermen or famous Cornish Smugglers pulling their boats in as you... More

Surely Treasure Island was written with this lovely little harbour and the hotel in mind, at the attractive and atmospheric hotel we expected to see a pirate with a parrot on his shoulder stood at the bar, we did see two local fishermen who were singers in the famous Fishermen's choir. Our four day stay was peaceful and idyllic and... More

Having just returned from our fabulous weeks holiday at The quirky and refreshingly different family run Port Gaverne Hotel, to say were extremely impressed would be an understatement. The new owners, no not managers! are doing an amazing job of bringing this once tired business up to the highest of standards, which had remained in a time warp for far... More
