Stayed in January for one night with our dog Molly and had a wonderful stay. Room was clean and had Sky TV. Public areas were dog friendly and old world Cornish charm. Staff were very helpful and friendly and food was superb if a little pricey. Would definitely recommend it for a Cornish break and we will definitely be returning... More

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a shooting trip. My room was large, comfortable and generally clean. The only faults were a long hair on the pillow slip (not one of mine) and a drink glass stain on the bedside cabinet (which I cleaned off). Apart from that my only complaint was that the shower ran out of... More

We stayed here for two nights recently and were not impressed by the hotel's cuisine. It seems strange to have the same menu in the restaurant as in the bar, and one that is very limited for choice. If you like chips a lot it may suit. My wife was not at all well after eating the fish pie so... More

The snug sounds quaint - its the area by the toilet door complete with soil pipes - Lovely NOT - Waitress was more interested in the guy in the bar and her pending squash game than looking after us - Food was not up to scratch and we were very much looked down on when we sent it back !... More

We had a 3 night stay in may The hotel and room were pretty much as we expected from the website and reviews so we were quite satisfied. Our room was pleasant and clean. The room was bright in the early morning, we're always happy to see the sun. We enjoyed the breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant which... More

We gave been visiting here for over 25 years and have seen many changes. The latest change of management , ie now brewery owned, does not add to the ambiance . Local Doombar beer no longer on tap. Food is as excellent as ever despite Ian leaving after over 30 years. The majority of staff have been there many years... More

What a fabulous place, excellent food, great staff but omg please get rid of the land lady before she gets the place closed down, talk about rude, she's so outrageously rude, you think she's a joke, talk about faulty towers.

Lovely location, friendly pub, attractive interior. Booked for Christmas lunch, over priced meal £60 per head. Allowing for Christmas and the only place open nearby, it was not value for money, the turkey was a slab of dry meat on your plate with Yorkshire puddings balanced on the top, very few vegetables, very disappointing. The rest of the meal was... More

I have just had the best christmas lunch ever. I have been eating out for Christmas day for many years and when we moved to Cornwall we wondered if we would beat some of the places we have eaten and boy oh boy did we. We started with scallops in a creme fraice sauce followed by a choice of starters... More

Stopped here whilst travelling in the area . The countryside and coast around cannot be faulted , sadly the same cannot be said for this place. Rude incompetent staff , poor shoddy decor ( seems like someone has given a chimp a paintbrush ) and rubbish overpriced food.
