We stayed for 2 nights, after reading all reviews were pleasantly pleased. Our room was at the top of a steep flight of stairs but had a great sea view. The bathroom was spacious but sadly with only a hand held shower, with no shower screen. There was a strange smell of stale water, but the bathroom was carpeted and we... More

Walked up on a Saturday evening 5 adults and 5 children, food delivered reasonably quickly with a special for my coeliac daughter. Have read the comments here about the new owners etc but have to say had a much better experience this year over last. Landlady listened to the jokes from one of our groups children and was very friendly.... More

After a long 12 mile walk we returned to our old favourite the Port Gaverne Hotel for lunch but to our surprise it had taken on two new chefs who provided us with an outstanding lunch whilst we were able to sit outside in the glorious sunshine with a fabulous view of the pretty little cove which makes up Port... I have on a great number of occasions visited The Port Gaverne Hotel for lunch. This time we stayed. The hotel and accomadation is first class. Where it lets itself down is in the Food and Berverage department. We were shown to our table and forgotten it was'nt until I got up to get a staff member that we were... More

Took a drive out to find somewhere nice for lunch and found this little treat ! Managed to also park which was amazing... ...Anyway, asked at the bar at 3:00pm about eating, to be told lunch had finished at 2:30pm and it was only sandwiches and chips being served till 6:00pm. Not a problem we had a lovely beef sandwiches... More

How sad that the new owners have changed things for the worse. This was one of our favourite places with the good food but most of all good friendly service. Obviously the staff all got on with each other and the happy workforce meant happy customers. Since the new people have taken over most of the old friendly faces have... More

We enjoyed a two night stay for a local wedding. Traditional pub with bright modern bedrooms. Excellent breakfast cooked to order with cheerful helpful staff. The public areas are exactly what you expect to find in Cornwall. If you want local shops etc. Port Isaac is just over the hill.

We really would have loved to have stayed longer at this small and lovely hotel. It's situated overlooking a peaceful and typically Cornish cove. The bedroom was pretty and comfortable, with a good sized bathroom. We were lucky to have the last parking space just around the corner from the hotel. There's a lovely coastal path from Port Gaverne to... More

New management means a change in the Sunday menu that has been truly wonderful for years until now! The 'roast beef' was a lump of brisket with layer of fat attached, flaky and without substance with very few accompanying vegetables (a notable feature of the previous management was the large vegetable accompaniment). Only 2 roast potatoes per person! Oh what... More

Just enjoyed a good meal out at the port gaverne. Lovely food, we had Vietnamese sardines, soft shell crab, followed by cod and chips, belly pork and shared a sticky toffee pud. All this and a bottle of wine and a few extra drinks for just over £50which I thought was pretty reasonable. Attentive staff and a good atmosphere. Would... More
