Myself, partner and 5 year old daughter stayed for two nights in the Ash bell tent in September. My partner does not enjoy camping- to say the least- but he was blown away by the experience. The walk to the bell tent was beautiful (and fun, if you're pushed along in a wheelbarrow with your 5 year old on your... More

We stayed in the safari tent last week for two nights and we will definitely be going back. My husband, stepson and daughter in law and our three dogs had a great time. Everything was thought about and provided for - down to the games, books, hot water bottles and gorgeous throws. The kitchen area is very well equipped and... More

Our family consisting of myself, husband and 3 children ages 2, 5 and 8 stayed in the safari tent in August for a week. It was everything we had hoped it would be. Amazingly comfy beds, (kids loved the cabin bed), nice warm shower, loads and loads of wonderful woodland for my kids to explore (rope swing was a big... More

Four families, 15 people (7 adults, kids), four tents, actually four of everything, one dog, 30 cans of beer, two bottles of wine, and one air bed with a slow puncture. Hmm The camp site is wild, where else do you get the pleasure of the carrying all your stuff in a wheel barrow along a wooded path. No cars... More

I booked a Bell Tent for my wife, mother-in-law and two children under the pretence that it was a beautiful glamping site. On arrival my wife found the inside of the tent filthy and all the beds soaking wet. When this was reported to the camp site owners they said oh well nothing we can do have your money back.... More

I'm sorry you were disappointed with your stay and I would like to pick up on a couple of points; the beds were absolutely not soaking wet, the leather fold out chair beds had had a wipe down to remove sticky finger prints from them; the double futon had had a complete change of bedding and it was totally dry.... Stayed in the field for 3 nights. Fantastic three days, great venue, we were under the pylons which buzzed for one night only. Having fire and cooking over it was great. Woods fantastic with rope swings and camps to be built for the kids age up to (30+). Downside toilets could do with a clean every day, and trolleys could... More

This was our first time camping and Dernwood was the perfect choice. The woods surrounding the main camping field are beautiful and excellent for children. The field was large and, I think, busy when we were there but there was no problem with queuing for the very clean toilets or water pipe. The shop is quite well equipped and the... More

Stayed for 4 nights in the Holly pitch on the 'encampment'. It's a stunning setting, 3 pitches around a wild pond. The site has a large wild camping field, and some big permanent tents as well. It's a lovely farm and great location. The shop is very useful too. The only way to improve it would be more toilet and... More

Stayed just for the one night as unsure how my 4 year old daughter would take to camping, she loved it! Looked like she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards but she was happy! Wild camping was great, got in a muddle with our tent but had some help from fellow campers, a big bonus, had the fire going in... More

Arrived on the Tuesday 24th June booked in for the wild camping field. When we arrived on the field after a short trek through some lovely woodland we found we were only the second persons on the field, very peaceful week was had and lovely scenery as a bonus. A special thank you goes to Emma who had a fantastic... More
