What a great place....could not be more friendly and helpful....great ethos Rif Raf kept away by small amount of effort required to reach camp field. A few more taps would make life easier and loos would struggle at peak times We will be going back

This is the second time we've stayed in The Encampment having been when it first opened last year .. This time we brought friends having heard me rave on about it.. Staying in the encampment feels like you've got the whole of the woods to yourselves.. Other than the wildlife you can hear virtually nothing and the woods make a... More

This location is truly a magical one. Foxes, deer, badgers amidst the bluebells, squirrels playing tag and oh that dawn chorus when the birds become active! The owners themselves are very enthusiastic and couldn't have been more friendly and obliging. Not so much a place to get away, but a place to return to that essence which so often eludes... More

We were a group of 5 people and had our own tent.Had a great time. The air and atmosphere was so refreshing. Especially the bluebells flowers. It felt like heaven! Even though there were approx 20 tents , it didnt feel busy as the area is huge. Its location is very suitable if you stay in london or nearby. The only downside... More

This is a beautiful place, children and dog friendly. Wild camping at its best. Toilets and showers available. Campfires are allowed, you can buy kindling and logs from the shop. Camp shop is well stocked too. Booked this via pitchup.com and they advised cash only but they do accept cards on site. Lovely lady on reception, made us feel very... More

Wow! What a great time we have just had with our 3 young boys, staying in The Cabin, originally featured on George Clark's Amazing Spaces, and much improved by the owners at Dernwood Farm. On arrival we loved being able to walk through the woods to discover the cabin ourselves. It meant the boys felt like it was their adventure,... More

Myself, partner and 5 year old daughter stayed for two nights in the Ash bell tent in September. My partner does not enjoy camping- to say the least- but he was blown away by the experience. The walk to the bell tent was beautiful (and fun, if you're pushed along in a wheelbarrow with your 5 year old on your... More

We stayed in the safari tent last week for two nights and we will definitely be going back. My husband, stepson and daughter in law and our three dogs had a great time. Everything was thought about and provided for - down to the games, books, hot water bottles and gorgeous throws. The kitchen area is very well equipped and... More

Our family consisting of myself, husband and 3 children ages 2, 5 and 8 stayed in the safari tent in August for a week. It was everything we had hoped it would be. Amazingly comfy beds, (kids loved the cabin bed), nice warm shower, loads and loads of wonderful woodland for my kids to explore (rope swing was a big... More

Four families, 15 people (7 adults, kids), four tents, actually four of everything, one dog, 30 cans of beer, two bottles of wine, and one air bed with a slow puncture. Hmm The camp site is wild, where else do you get the pleasure of the carrying all your stuff in a wheel barrow along a wooded path. No cars... More
