We really enjoyed our stay at Dernwood Farm. As other reviews (and the website) state, you have to trolley your stuff to the field - but this is great as it means there's no cars in sight! The field is surrounded by woods - full of wildlife (we heard owls, and one night a badger snuffling around our tent!) You... More

I treated the wife to a quiet weekend away in the woods - on Halloween. I genuinely can't find fault, in anything. The cabin is absolutely perfect, warm, cozy & comfy. The drawbridge wall & deck are perfect for a game of cards & a bottle of wine....or you can just sit in the hammock & listen to the birds.... More

Over the years we have stayed in the Bell tents, the Safari tent and this year the Cabin. Dernwood simply gets better and better. I stayed at the Cabin with my son and 3 of his mates. I think the highlight of the trip was breakfast al fresco with the wall wound down bringing the wood into our home. Fabulous!... More

We stayed in the safari tent over a long weekend. It was incredibly well equipped and clean, and the beds were really comfy. We immediately felt the working week fall away. The quietness of the site really makes it special - you just don't hear a thing. Particularly loved the secret rope swing in the woods, and the fire pit.... More

Myself and my 2 children plus my sister and her son stayed here for the first time this summer, we had 3 nights in a large peaceful field surrounded by woodland. Cars have to stay in the carpark and trolleys & wheelbarrows are used to take equipment to the site. We needed 7 trolleys!! This is perhaps no ones fault... More

We stayed in the Zafari tent. It was vert dusty and the bed sheets were very old. It does not cost much to replace sheets and duvet covers more often. The shower attached to the tent was not working. This was most disappointing as it his was one of the main reason we booked the tent. We had to use... More

I took my 10 year old son and his friend for 3 nights. It is a lovely campsite hidden by woods. Plenty of space and woods for kids to explore. Being able to light your own fire is one of the bonuses. Wood is sold in the shop for a reasonable price but you could always bring you own. The... More

I visited this site with my husband for a couple of nights in early August. It is worth noting that there is a good 7 minute walk from the car park to the site and you have to transfer your stuff by foot! Once in the field there are no set pitches so you are free to choose where you... More

We went for 3 nights and 4 days with wild camping. It certainly is wild camping! The car park/showers and shop are about a 7 minute walk away. This seemed ok at first but the trolleys are very hard to steer and the paths are very bumpy. Secondly, there was a giant transmission tower on the field (another thing, you... More

Thank for your review and I take on board your comments about the cleaning, obviously everything is cleaned every day but I apologise if this was not up to your satisfaction. I am going to take issue with the other points you raise. The field is a 7 minute (400M) walk from the carpark; this is clearly stated on our... More

We have just returned from 3 nights in the cabin at Dernwood Forest with our children. We had a very relaxed, contented and enjoyable time, in spite of rain, due to the lovely environment and the stylish, utility led design of the cabin which kept us snug and warm throughout. Our children had a lovely time running around in the... More
