Visited the Nether Abbey for dinner with a couple of my friends. We were guided to a table by a waitress but then rudely told to move by what looked like the manager. The steak was tiny for the price paid for it and the peppercorn sauce watery. Apart from that the rest of the food was lovely, as were... More

We stayed at the Nether Abbey for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious, well decorated and appointed, with a comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Toiletries were renewed daily and bathrobes and slippers supplied. There were tea/coffee making facilities and on arrival, a small tray of fresh fruit. Breakfast was plentiful and good, the more so for... More

There was 19 in our party and we had a brilliant night in the Nether Abbey Music Room. Hidden behind some fantastic old wooden doors this room is used for dining during day/night but can also be hired for a private function. We created our own menu of various types of burgers, followed by berry pavlova. The homemade burgers were... More

Great selection of well prepared dishes. Attentive wait staff. Good selection of beers & wine. Both formalised & informal settings with the same menu. Would happily return for more. Seafood was particularly good & whilst it wouldn't register on a Michelin guide, it was very tasty & priced accordingly

We did not stay at this hotel but ate at the Restaurant. Service was attentive, pleasant and professional from the moment we stepped into the building. We did not sit in the conservatory which was busy and a little noisy but this was to be expected on a warm summers evening. We sat inside the restaurant. Decor very nice and... More

Annual golf trip to East Lothian and the Nether is the right place to stay. The service is friendly, efficient and flexible. The rooms have all you need. The bar is well renowned for a good selection of well kept beers. The food suits the rest of the place; plenty of it and good quality. If there's a gripe then... More

This is a cracking hotel. One of the best I've been to for some while. When I booked this, my expectation was of a run down victorian house. How wrong I was proven to be. The hotel is a grand victorian property that looks to have been recently refurbished. It's been done in a very tasteful way. The bar and... More

Stayed here for 1 night over the Easter break. The hotel is nicely presented with efficient staff. We didn't eat an evening meal but the breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was very good. The rooms are generally very clean and beds comfortable. Summer rates are a little pricey but I guess that's what you have to pay in... More
