Large former mill property with 8 bedrooms converted to b and b. Under new management and ownership. Good location and convenient for town and harbour. Quiet so able to have windows open all night as it was very warm. Beds comfortable, welcome friendly and breakfast good. Able to sit out in the garden with a few drinks with our friends.... More

We stayed here for two nights. The place has recently been taken over and the new owners are working had to redecorate and improve the house. It will be very good when finished. We were greeted warmly by Sophie who is the manager here, and shown to our room which was spacious and very clean. The bed was the most... More

Mill House is in a good location; the town, the quay and some decent restaurants are all close by, and it's easy to get onto the coastal path. The welcome was friendly. The downstairs twin room where we stayed was warm and clean but that said, it needs a complete makeover - haven't seen a room like that since the... More

My personal view of the mill house is that I found the house to be quite charming, we were welcomed by the owner Mrs.Downy who showed us to our spacious room overlooking the lovely garden. The decor was in keeping with the property, old washstand, fireplace and two easy chairs, we had the most comfy bed I have ever slept... More

Surrounded by tall hedges and a wall, Mill House nestles in a wonderfully overgrown garden that suits wildlife as much as the guests. A warm welcome awaits from owner Mrs Downey who seems to manage the garden as well as the house and the fine breakfasts. A labyrinth of corridors upstairs leads to 8 of the 9 rooms. Room 8... More

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Mill House where we couldn't have been better looked after. The owner was extremely helpful and kind as soon as we arrived. Having realised that vital medicine had been left behind she immediately went out to a local chemist to get information for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Our... More

My husband and I have just returned from a weekend stay at Mill House in Wells. We have absolutely no complaints at all. We found Mrs Downey and her staff friendly and helpful. Lovely ground floor twin room, large bathroom. Excellent breakfasts.

I had a delightful two day stay, in one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in (apart from my own) and found the breakfast excellent, I certainly was met with a smile and had everything explained to me, maybe previous visitors should try smiling at the person first, after all it is infectious!!! I certainly would stay there... More

Under new management from May 2014, Mill House is a former mill owner's home built in approximately 1860 and set in a secluded garden of almost an acre. The dining room and all the double and twin rooms are south facing and look out to the lawn. All the rooms are ensuite with showers and some also have baths. Most rooms have small fridges.
