This b and b has to be in one of the most perfect locations in Wells. My husband and i stayed here last week- being one of 3 different bnbs we stayed in during the course of a week. We are massive North Norfolk fans and knew Wells to be a lovely place to stay, The Old Custom House was... More

A long drive for us, but a very warm welcome on arrival and a spectacular room was well worth it. Not only did we have the four poster with a settee looking over the marshes to the sea, and a dressing room, and a huge bathroom, we enjoyed what must be one of the best views in Wells. Peter and... For a birthday treat I took my closest friend to this wonderful bed and breakfast. I have previously stayed with my husband so I knew it was going to be wonderful. Once more a very warm welcome by Maddie. Our room was spotless and had the luxury of a mini kitchen and large ensuite facilities. The queens warehouse, our room,... More

A glorious location on the Quay at Wells Next the Sea. I echo previous comments; we felt as if we were staying with friends. Our room, the Captain's Quarters, was in the 'new' wing and by new I mean 1660s. It was well furnished and had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, with delicious linen. We... More

My Australian cousins and I spent three delightful days staying at The Old Custom House. We enjoyed Peter and Maddie's friendly hospitality and the excellent breakfasts. We also were pleased to meet the other guests and to chat over breakfast. Our rooms were charming and comfortable and as a keen photographer I loved the location watching the boats on the mud... More

Wonderful place to stay. Genuinely warm and friendly welcome, Peter is a delightful host. Location is superb. Four poster bed and bed linen truly luxurious. Full English breakfast, indulgent and satisfying. The view from our window helped us to relax instantly on arrival. Large corner bath simply sumptuous. Would love to return soon. Thank you Peter for your and your... More

The Old Custom House was badly flooded in december 2013, and reopened only in mid-feb, but apart from the painter finishing off some superb work, you could not imagine how ghastly things must have been for the owners. and how hard they must have worked to maintain the standard of this first rate B&B. Welcome: warm, friendly. Our room, the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Custom House. The accommodation is excellent, the food is good and Peter and Maddie are nice folks. What more do you want in a B & B? Wells itself is a great place to visit and we have done so on several occasions now.

The Old Custom House is in a lovely location right on the quayside in Wells. We stayed in February, so the town was quiet. We had the Captain's Quarters which was very comfortable and had excellent tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was very good with a good choice including fruit salad, a traditional English breakfast or smoked haddock. Peter... More

We stayed in the four poster room. It was bigger than I was expecting from the photos. The view looking onto the quay is so peaceful and stunning. A spacious bathroom, with a power shower and large bath. The whole place was spotless. Peter was extremely welcoming and bright and breezing in the morning, alongside Maddie's delicious cooked breakfast (lots... More
