It's great to chat with the host, who knows lots about Wells and the sea. And the place is wonderful: well managed, kindly run, really comfortable, with beautiful views in a perfect location. Rich and quirky bookshelves to browse, too. We've been to other B&Bs in Wells, and do our best to come back here.

On a trip back to the UK stayed here with the wife, very good, great breakfasts, great hosts, room/bed very comfortable, bathroom just fine as well. Situated on East Quay great views of Wells and the marshes. Used to sit outside and watch the sunsets, got good photos, even a trace of the 'Northern Lights'. Stayed in the "Captains Cabin',... Homely feel, lovely Accommodation, Great breakfast and good value for money. cosy dining room where the guests share the dining table. Beds were the comfiest we have slept in, nice clean facilities. Spacious room with free WiFi. TV with basic channels. We stayed in the ground floor twin which we thought was great, especially as it has it's own entrance... More

The Old Custom House is situated in the cul-de –sac of East Quay so that there is no through traffic to spoil the enjoyment. This lovely early seventeenth century listed building has panoramic views over the ever changing estuary and the sea beyond which we enjoyed from our four poster bedroom with ensuite bathroom (with a proper bath!). This is... More

We stayed in the Queen's Warehouse a ground floor room with its own entrance at The Old Custom House. The accommodation was first class. The beds were very comfortable. (My husband complained about our bed when we arrived home). There was also a small dining kitchen and a good sized bathroom with lots of hot water. We took our small dog... More

My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Old Custom House. We had an upstairs room which was quite spacious and had a view of the water when it was in. It's a short walk from the OCH to the shops and restaurants of Wells, and not too much farther down a trail to the beach. Both the... More

We were in the room upstairs, with the (own personal use) bathroom up a couple of stairs and across a small landing. Both bathroom and bedroom were of a good size, the latter having enough space to accommodate two comfortable easy chairs and footstools. Perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea after a day out exploring Wells and the... More

Rose cottage is part of the holiday rentals offered by the Old Custom House. It's a Cottage situated behind the Customer House and is more suited to the holiday maker staying for week two weeks. Self catering and fully equipped all you really need to bring is yourself. It has a secluded garden to enjoy the summer evenings and you... More

Bit disappointed with this B&B as I expected more. The room was a reasonable size , but the bathroom was not en-suite, up a couple of steep stairs to the landing and then across into the bathroom, which was OK but didn't have temperature compensated controls making it a bit iffy as the water was very hot. Breakfast was good,... More

We booked to stay here as a fairly last minute break away was required. Having looked at the various reviews on TripAdvisor, we were lucky to have found The Old Custom House had a midweek slot available for the night we required. We were treated superbly from beginning to end; Peter and Maddy are simply superb hosts. The room we... More
