Our third stay at The Old Custom House and excellent in every way. Breakfast is a highlight but everything has been thought of for your comfort and relaxation. Peter and Maddie are such welcoming hosts, can't wait to return.

Peter and Maddie make running a B&B look effortless, simply because they are so accomplished at being excellent, relaxing hosts, and making super breakfasts! Breakfast is a lovely occasion to sit and meet with other guests around the same table - the conversation encouraged by Peter's easy charm and repertoire of local knowledge and anecdotes. Our room (Captains Quarters) was... More

In recent years Wells has become our favourite location for a couple of days away, walkking and wandering. It's a wonderful place but a large slice of our enjoyment is because we have found the Old Custom House. Our favourite room overlooks the harbour and salt marsh, the facilities are excellent, breakfast is a feast, and if you must check... More

Comfortable beds, best breakfast ever(smoked Haddock) friendly & considerate hosts. Loved the ground floor room with own entrance to front parking and garden. Wonderful views. Had a very good fish pie at "Olie's" Wells is a great place and well worth a visit.

great location great building ,bedroom fine bathroom needs modern shower ,breakfast selection is excellent ,only downside for us was the communial dining table and lots of debates at breakfast time as Peter the host likes a debate at breakfast time that let it down a bit for us has we are not morning people.

Our recent stay at the B&B was perfect. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the hosts were welcoming and could not do enough for us. The breakfast was lovely. The atmosphere was very relaxed and overall it was such an enjoyable experience. Thank you Peter & Maddie !

It's great to chat with the host, who knows lots about Wells and the sea. And the place is wonderful: well managed, kindly run, really comfortable, with beautiful views in a perfect location. Rich and quirky bookshelves to browse, too. We've been to other B&Bs in Wells, and do our best to come back here.

On a trip back to the UK stayed here with the wife, very good, great breakfasts, great hosts, room/bed very comfortable, bathroom just fine as well. Situated on East Quay great views of Wells and the marshes. Used to sit outside and watch the sunsets, got good photos, even a trace of the 'Northern Lights'. Stayed in the "Captains Cabin',... The Old Custom House is situated in the cul-de –sac of East Quay so that there is no through traffic to spoil the enjoyment. This lovely early seventeenth century listed building has panoramic views over the ever changing estuary and the sea beyond which we enjoyed from our four poster bedroom with ensuite bathroom (with a proper bath!). This is... More
