The Thomas Paine Hotel emerges as a charming choice for many, with its large, refurbished rooms, though some guests have pointed out cleanliness and noise concerns. Its reputation for value is strong, with the majority of travelers finding it reasonably priced for the amenities offered. The staff's efficiency and hospitality are frequently celebrated, contributing to the hotel's welcoming and lively atmosphere. While one mention of marked cups suggests room for improvement, the hotel's cleanliness generally earns high marks. The hotel is gives you a great home town feel. The owners make you feel like family and happy to entertain. They are happy to make your experience the best they can. The food is reasonably priced as well as the best Sunday roast in the area. I go often to enjoy an amazing dinner.

We had our wedding yesterday and we highly recommend it for anyone who wishes to have their wedding at Thomas pain hotel. The communication between owner and us was easy when making enquiries with quick responses. The staff were all very professional with a welcoming smile and went over and beyond to ensure all our guests were happy. The food was the best we have had in a very long time and we will definitely be returning

We went here today for Sunday lunch (Mothers Day). We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and treated very well, all the staff were very attentive. The food was amazing, we had 3 courses, each course was delicious. The place itself was beautifully done and had a lot of character. The owner took time to tell us about the building, he was very friendly and chatty. My children had a great time playing drafts after dinner. We had a wonderful afternoon here. We would highly recommend and we will definitely return!

Booked as a training venue. Gez and Rosie went above and beyond to ensure the delegates and myself were comfortable. Keeping us topped up with tea/coffee and refreshments and well as a superb lunch. Make changes to accommodate delegates who were vegan. Decor is beautiful. Good parking facilities.

My sister has her wedding reception here & it was the best night of our lives, so it only felt right to have my dads supprise 60th here. A few things that stood out to us the most; 1) they where accommodating to our budget. 2) nothing was to much work, we had live music & a play-list, staff where happy to play this. (Even if it was mostly heavy music-our dads taste) 3) they helped keep it a surprise when my dad entered 4)We were allowed to set up in advance. 5) we where even asked what drinks people like to make sure there was enough stock. All the staff were so friendly & happy to help. There was a lot of us & we all like a drink, staff were quick when pouring drinks & knowledgeable & happy to chat too. They even took photos for us so we have lots of photos to remember this fantastic evening.

We went for Sunday lunch. There were a few choices of each course plus specials. We all chose the lamb special and it was delicious and there was so much of it ! Rosie came over and spoke to us a couple of times. She was so friendly and welcoming and also very interesting. Dessert was amazing (sticky toffee pudding) . I was very interested to see some of the other dishes they have on their menus (goat curry in particular) and will definitely return to try that or another curry or Indian dish. Afternoon tea looks good too. It was quieter the day we went although had been busy the night before and that evening so I would recommend booking.

Nothing too much trouble for the DJ , Simon from Zack FM !! Great host , showed us in and gave us all a warm welcome. For the 3 course meal and disco it was reasonably priced too . We will book next year !!

We recently spent one night at the hotel while on an independent bicycle trip around Norfolk. I was looking for a place to stay in Thetford and the hotel website looked great, so we booked a room, not really knowing what to expect. The building has been nicely refurbished and we had a very large corner room (I think the largest room on property)with high ceilings, lots of light, new furnishings, and modern bathroom. Fans were provided in the room (it wasn't hot, but air circulation is always nice). There is a nice lounge where we had a late afternoon drink and had a wonderful time meeting the family that owns/runs the hotel. They are just delightful and truly understand hospitality. Our only regret is that they were not serving dinner that night, so we could not enjoy the Chef/Owner's cuisine. Lovely people who could not have been more accommodating to us or our bicycles!
