I normally us travel lodges when travelling on business but with the turmoil of the A11 upgrade in progress I looked for a hotel in Thetford itself for the first time. The Thomas Paine was such a interesting stay. The history of the hotel was really interesting and the food was very good . Instead of having to suffer the... More

Once again Gez, Chris and the team did me proud when I hosted a technical seminar for 40+ attendees. The room was laid out prefectly, the food was on time and of a great quality and the attendees were more than happy with the location. A great evening to repeated again soon. Thanks to all involved. We stayed here on a fact finding mission, in the hope of booking a conference for 100 on a day delegate rate. The staff had no idea what they were doing, the so called owner was drunk and playing lord of the manor, but failed to even turn up for our aged meeting to discuss the forthcoming event. Foods below... More

Looking at your review you obviously have the wrong hotel, if you look at our other reviews you will see that we are not perfect but 95% honest which you are not and that we have mentioned before on other reviews that we will not be subject to blackmail. 100 people 30000 budget mmm? first of all we could only... This was my second stay at this hotel and I wasn't disappointed, room was well decorated and the food outstanding. Area was quiet and looked plenty of things to do if you wanted. Even though it was at the side of a main road it felt quiet and not much traffic.

We stopped over on the way through to Norfolk, and as a previous guest on business I knew exactly where to stay. The wife and kids enjoyed the food and hospitality provided by the manager Chris. A short walk into town for some supplies the next morning and we were on our way again. Exactly what we needed at a... More

We started off at the Premier Inn but were forced to check out as the rooms were all 30 degrees even at 10pm. We found this hotel online in desperation for some cool air. On arrival the manager was very helpful and gave us a lovely large room with big windows which actually open fully unlike those at the Premier... More

Following a two night stay at the Thomas Paine 'Boutique' Hotel in Thetford, I felt compelled to write a review. Firstly it is not a'Boutique' hotel and anyone expecting this will be disappointed. Upon booking we requested a cot in the room as we have a 10 month old. When we arrived we were informed that a cot was unavailable,... More

This is an excellent hotel, which I can't recommend highly enough. The service was superb, very friendly and happy to help. The room was lovely, a good size and very tasteful. The food was delicious. I've been a fan of Thomas Paine for a long time so when I realised we'd be staying in Thetford I had to try this... More

The Thomas Paine has fast become our favourite place to dine. The food is freshly prepared rather than boiled in a bag which means you can enjoy a comfortable, relaxing drink in the bar area before being seated at your table. The staff are courteous, friendly, attentive and professional. We are always greeted with a warm welcome and quickly advised... More

This is a very nice privately owned hotel with clean rooms and good service. The food is very good value for the quality you get with ample portions to boot. Hotel staff are accommodating and friendly. Would stay here again when the next opportunity arises.
