This hotel is well located in the centre of town and provides comparable accommodation to a Travel Lodge / Premier Inn but for a few pounds cheaper. The room was a nice size with a good bathroom but just slightly shabby. Other Wetherspoons we have stayed in seemed fresher. Have just returned from a one night stay at the globe and was very impressed with the room and value for money.found this much nicer than a travel inn or similar.The breakfast was very reasonable too. The Globe was a US Airforce "Entertainment" Centre during and after WW2 well into the 50's and when visited in 1990 still retained its medieaval bits-uneven floors and all!
