"Relaxed atmosphere, contemporary style" Bank House is a unique Grade II * listed 11 bedroom Georgian town house hotel, set on the quay side in the heart of the historic and business areas of King’s Lynn, and a step away from the renowned Corn Exchange theatre and Arts Centre. Recently renovated to bring an eclectic flourish to the building’s Georgian grandeur, Bank House is now King’s Lynn’s most exciting and inviting place to eat, drink and stay. Our stunning bedrooms are each individually decorated and immensely comfortable. We love food at Bank House! Our menu offers modern brasserie food, using top quality fresh ingredients and taking full advantage of the wonderful produce of the area in season. Our elegant Bar, once the bank manager's office, is open all day. Teas, coffees and delicious home made cakes are available throughout the day, with the Bank House tea of sandwiches, scones and cakes served during the afternoon. We have a number of private rooms available for meetings and conferences, private dinners, parties and weddings, large or small, and can tailor our catering to suit your exact requirements and budget. Wi-fi internet is available throughout. Why not visit our older sister, The Rose & Crown, Snettisham?

We have stayed here a couple of times and eaten here even more. It's the best place in King's Lynn but it could be so much better. The last two times we have stayed we have had issues with plumbing in our room, leaks and hot water not working. This time there were also floods in the kitchen meaning we didn't have breakfast in the morning, much to our disappointment. The staff are extremely polarizing. Some bend over backwards to be accommodating, others are clearly waiting to leave, so the experience can be positive or rather draining. Breakfast is sparse, even when served, especially for a Vegetarian. Improving this would make a big difference. The decor is clearly overdue some work. The windows are rotten and the whole place needs investment. It's been up for sale for a long time and enquiries are met with vague explanations of the financial performance. It seems the owners have mentally checked out and are hoping somebody will swoop in to take the financial problems away for a good price. This place has so much potential and I hope the new owners do this historic building justice.

Stayed just the one night with friends, everything about our stay was excellent. The staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay a ‘joy’ we decided to eat there as well, again food was excellent. The Bank House is not the cheapest venue in KL, but if you believe about getting what you pay for, then this is the place to go. Will happily go again , if there was a negative, it’s the car parking, not the position as I was able to park right outside, it’s the ‘faffing’ around with the app! This is clearly not the hotels fault.

A lovely, lovely hotel in a great location at the edge of the Ouse estuary. Booked in for one night for a special treat and stayed in The Captains Room. The room was huge with a big comfortable bed, a sofa and armchair as well as a bath - in the room itself!! (additional to the well equipped bathroom and walk in shower) A fantastic view out of the double bay windows too - overlooking the river. It was warm and cosy and the staff, especially the general manager, couldn't have been more helpful. A very relaxed place, unpretentious and of the highest order. Breakfast was top notch - quality ingredients and beautifully cooked and presented. Would highly reccomend Bank House.

We enjoyed a very relaxing stay for two nights. The room was very comfortable and food excellent, our Sunday evening meal was a work of art and very tasty. Special mention for Andrew, the Manager, who was very helpful throughout our stay.

We went to the Bank House for a meal to celebrate my sister’s 80th birthday. The staff were pleasant, efficient and friendly, the dining room was decorated with a festive theme. The food was only mediocre. The portions were very small and there was a lack of vegetables. The drinks were very expensive eg. a bottle of Pinot Grigio cost £23 and a glass of Shiraz £8.75

Stayed for one night as a treat after seeing the Sunday stay offer. Just £125 for any room with breakfast and credit towards dinner. Staff were great and food was enjoyable. I had the Captain’s Room which was an impressive size with two windows overlooking the river. There were some aspects that took away from the initial feeling of luxury. There were some stains on the furnishings and missing grout in the bathroom. Odd that there was no actual soap/handwash for the hand basin. Directly below the room was a bin store which obviously is where staff go to take their breaks. This could be quite noisy and the sight of a bucket of a cigarette butts wasn’t the most pleasant! For the price I paid I was more than happy, but if I was paying the full rate I would expect everything to be spot on. If they run the Sunday special offer again I would certainly give it another go and would love to try one of the other rooms.

We had been out on a hike in the rain and decided to stop for lunch. Bank House looked good on TripAdvisor and it did not disappoint. We had Chicken Supreme and Truffle fries and Steak Pus and Truffle fries. Both meals were very well cooked, tasted excellent and made us both comment how good they were. The staff were excellent and looked after us well and attentively. Very good value tasty food in a friendly atmosphere Thank you

I just arrived from London and the kitchen just closed. Staff very helpful and the chef cooked me a gorgeous meal. Great care taken and using fresh produce. The waiting staff were very polite and attentive. The river view is just the perfect ending. Thank you to all the staff at the Bank House.

The Kings Room overlooked the Square, it was spacious, had a large comfy bed and a large bath. It was over the hotel entrance lobby which has heavy doors so each morning early, we woke to banging of doors and music from we think a delivery vehicle. Cups too big to lift for cup of tea in room. Staff very friendly which made up for lack of cleanliness in room and dining room (cobwebs where candles seem to be put on wire shelf); attention to detail is needed and working more as a team. Glasses and tea cups still on tables hours after we left. Parasols on floor on terrace so we had to step over them and table not clean of birds mess. No marmalade after 3 days of asking. No soap to wash hand in bathroom in room just one small bottle of ‘wash’. Changing rooms to eat breakfast without prior knowledge. Hoovering near food in Morning when clients are eating. Water fight on terrace with children over the wall?? No notice stating workmen were on premises and couldn’t use part of terrace. Management were very understanding at the issues we did mention to them and we thank them, even Sue went and bought a bottle of marmalade tho’ we had already done so. Overall slightly disappointed by our 4 day stay but it was made up for by the staff and Chad the chef produced lovely food.

The Telegraph review made us want to visit this lovely hotel and we were not disappointed. The hotel is old and full of character. The historic quarter, where it is located , is fascinating and has so many interesting buildings. The hotel is next to the river and in front of the Customs House. We found it incredibly peaceful even on a Saturday night. It isn’t huge and impersonal ( 12 rooms I think ) It’s just right. Our room was fabulous and we had a huge and comfortable bed. It was quite warm so the fan provided helped us to sleep. The welcome we had was super friendly and efficient. Our friends had booked a table for dinner in the Bank House and we all enjoyed ourselves. The food , drink and service couldn’t be faulted. It isn’t a huge menu but it all seems to be freshly made . There is such a nice atmosphere at the Bank House. The breakfast was fantastic too. We definitely want to come back again. Highly recommend.
