We spent 5 nights at Ickworth over October half term and everyone had a lovely relaxing break. Plenty for my kids to do (2 boys ages 6 & 3) including horseriding, swimming (at least once a day!) and bike riding around the estate. The food is great in Fredericks restaurant and the staff friendly. Our two rooms were decorated in a quirky 60's student bed-sit style so not to everyone's taste, and the lack of tea-making facilities was very disappointing for all of us. The idea behind this hotel is great (though at an enormous cost). Kids are allowed to run about at their hearts content. Good facilities for them and the outdoors are great. This hotel is dreadfully run down, with dust everywhere and a huge abundance of flies, loads in the restaurant-be careful not to breathe in!!!! The excuse 'it is Summer'... more
