Was told the hotel was under new ownership, hence the reason for no TV in room, lack of milk ect for making tea, had to go out and buy some, and no mention of breakfast on either of the 2 days we stayed, best part about it was leaving. Must say tho that the noise was not as bad as... More

Brother suggested this hotel as being the nearest in order to visit him. We arrived 4.30 p.m. on Friday, 5 Oct., as agreed, but twin room was not ready so given a family room instead with a double bed and two singles. After unpacking, were then told that we would have to move into the twin room as the hotel... More

Perhaps not a great timeto arrive, in the middle of a Sunderland home game, but had to fight a path from the door to the bar, and try and attract attention. Not a good start..Get to my room, try to lock the door behind me and the knob falls off. Managed to crew it back on and tighten the little... More

We booked The Harbour View after getting last minute Coldplay tickets and since we didn't anticipate spending much time in the room just wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful. On first sight - the room actually seemed quite nice - spacious, nice furniture, large bath in the room itself and power shower complete with lighting and radio. However, on closer inspection... I booked this hotel online a month before I was due to stay there for two nights. We were attending a friend's wedding and decided to make a weekend away of it. We arrived and were immediately disappointed. GIven the price we paid I expected something a little nicer, that didn't include drunk people hanigng around the doorway harassing people... More

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times over the past year and a bit. Staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, the showers good (not a dribble like you get in some cheaper places). The noise some people complain about I've never heard, never had a problem with people milling around outside drunk either. The rooms I've used are all... More

Stayed at this hotel with my wife.Room was fine but that is about it.Noisy until the early hours with drunken young people shouting and swearing in the street under our room after getting drunk in the noisy bar.The breakfast was very poor ,one of the worst ever. This place has make up its mind if it is a hotel (B &... Booked in at 12 noon. Picked up our bags and left at 5pm. when we got booked elsewhere. The room was horrible, small and pokey twin, dingy bedding and towels and no valance around the awful stripped divan base. They really should promote this place as a hostel not an hotel. Suitable for stag parties and festival goers who don't care... More
