We highly recommend staying here. Michael and julie are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them, they were most helpful. Michaels breakfast had so much choice. It is the best we have ever had and his homemade breads are delicious. We hope to stay here again in the future. Cliff and june st helens

I can highly recommend staying at Eastshaw Guesthouse having stayed there previously. Warm and friendly welcome from Mick, Julie and Henry (the dog). Comfortable room, very clean and with sea views. Excellent breakfast, cooked well and with delicious homemade rolls. Very good position, next to Terrace Green and newly acquired sculpture 'Tommy', a must see. Will definitely be back.

Our third visit, sadly on this occasion for family bereavement reasons. Mick and Jules were as always fantastic hosts and made our stay as comfortable and welcoming as you could ever expect. Champagne waiting for us on ice when we arrived, as we had just celebrated our wedding anniversary, was a very thoughtful touch. Thank you once again. Comfortable rooms,... More

The only place to stay in Seaham. Our family stay was absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble for Mick and Jules. We were made to feel at home from the moment we walked through the door; the wine in the lounge was a lovely touch. Everywhere was clean and comfortable and the breakfast excellent especially Mick's home baked bread.... More

While planning our recent trip to England, my husband and I, amateur sea glass collectors, searched the internet for beaches to explore for sea glass. Seaham was the top pick and we were lucky to get reservations at the Eastshaw Guesthouse. From reading the other reviews on Tripadvisor I don't need to elaborate on our wonderful stay. Suffice it to... More

Lovely hosts who really make you feel at home. Superb guesthouse, comfy bed, great views over the harbour, the sea right in front of you, own livingroom, tremendous breakfast with a variety of homemade bread, very nice places to eat out and pubs nearby (don't go to Eastshaw if you're on a diet!), good trains to Newcastle, busses to Sunderland,... We are returning guests of Mick & Jules, however this was our first stay in their gorgeous cottage, St. Cuthbert's. We were greeted by a delicious food hamper too, with a bottle of red and some delicious home made bread! This place was something else! It sits in an idyllic quiet spot, surrounded by greenery and a little river. It... More

A little piece of Heaven, what a lovely way of describing St a Cuthberts cottage. We are so pleased that you appreciated our little place by the stream. See you in August. Kind regards. More

If you want to be left to your own devices but with the knowledge your host is only a mile and 5 mins away then this is the place for you. It's central to all road links to most local attractions and in what is probably the prettiest part of the area. The cottage was clean, user friendly and cosy.... More

Just had a lovely two night stay at Eastshaw. Calm, relaxing, comfortable and superb warm hospitality all supplied just for us. Right next to the beach and in easy reach of all Seaham has to offer. A visit is a must if you are considering a stay in Seaham.

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at St Cuthbert's Cottage in Dalton-le-Dale. The accommodation is very comfortable and the woodburning stoves make everything very cosy. The setting just next to the Parish church is attractive and the neighbours helpful and friendly. The welcome hamper was a lovely addition (fantastic bread!) and Mick couldn't have been more helpful. I hope we... More
