My husband and I chose to stay here as we had been searching for something nice in or around Seaham for our anniversary sea glass adventure.. We came across great reviews on tripadvisor which we decided to follow up. We were very pleased to discover the reviews were true! Mick is absolutely lovely - we arrived late first night and... More

I'm not sure I can add much to the glowing reviews left by others, but I would like to chime in just a little. Everything you have read in the other reviews is true - the hosts are amazing, the property is beautiful and the sea glass littering the beaches is unique and plentiful. Each day we woke up to... So much to enjoy - an historic home with sea views, a beachcomber's paradise, gracious hospitality, breakfasts that leave you happily stuffed all day . . . we're already looking forward to next year. Beautiful Durham Cathedral is just a short bus ride away. Don't miss Massimo's right around the corner for dinner. Mick and Jules (and Henry) are the... More

We enjoyed every minute of our stay here! Mick and Julie made us feel most welcome from the very minute we stepped off the train. After only four days at their wonderful guest house, we felt that this was a delightful couple we would love to know better. We do hope to return some day for another visit. Our rooms... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage, Mick was very welcoming and let us know where everything was, not to mention the very generous welcome pack complete with delicious homemade bread! As well as being in an idyllic location with all the peace and quiet you could want, it was just a stones throw away from Seaham and... More

We highly recommend staying here. Michael and julie are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them, they were most helpful. Michaels breakfast had so much choice. It is the best we have ever had and his homemade breads are delicious. We hope to stay here again in the future. Cliff and june st helens

Just returned last night. Jules, Mick and Henry made us feel as if we belonged. We went in search of sea glass and delightfully found some very nice pieces. I was also the recipient of quite a few nice piece that were given to me by persons I met on the beach. I can't say enough nice things about our... More

I can highly recommend staying at Eastshaw Guesthouse having stayed there previously. Warm and friendly welcome from Mick, Julie and Henry (the dog). Comfortable room, very clean and with sea views. Excellent breakfast, cooked well and with delicious homemade rolls. Very good position, next to Terrace Green and newly acquired sculpture 'Tommy', a must see. Will definitely be back.

Our third visit, sadly on this occasion for family bereavement reasons. Mick and Jules were as always fantastic hosts and made our stay as comfortable and welcoming as you could ever expect. Champagne waiting for us on ice when we arrived, as we had just celebrated our wedding anniversary, was a very thoughtful touch. Thank you once again. Comfortable rooms,... More
