I came across this hotel just by chance on a last minute visit to Durham, and we were so glad I did! Our 1st floor room was lovely, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, shower room was small but had everything we needed. We stayed on a dinner b&b package and had a delicious 3 course meal. Breakfast was... More

I've stayed at the Seaton lane Inn several times since my previous review and I am pleased to say that it continues to be excellent in every respect. The staff are attentive, the food is very good, and it's a nice touch when the staff remember that a guest is gluten free and prepare their meal accordingly. Nice, clean rooms.... More

Food was amazing, lovely and quiet that day too. All ended up tasting each other's food and struggled with desserts. Sat up near the window, freezing outside but toasty inside. Lunchtime menu is very good indeed.

Visited the restaurant for Valentines night. Food was exceptional, staff very attentive we thoroughly enjoyed it! Only quibble I would have is courses arrived to quickly after each other not giving your food enough time to settle. Come the desert we were fit to burst!! Parking was a bit of a nightmare! Just not enough spaces for hotel and restaurant.

Stayed in the Seaton Lane Inn for 2 weeks in a row (3 days in each week) and this is my verdict: - staff is very nice and attentive, but probably too many for such a small place - room is very spacious and warm - bathroom is small but enough - restaurant food tasted good, but the truth is... More

I never expected something this good, when I took off and headed towards Newcastle. The hotel has the old charm, but it has been totally refurbished with Modern taste. Rooms were very nice and well equipped. Bathrooms and showers were quite small, but manageable. The restaurant was the key point of this location, the breakfast was absolutely great and the... More

We stayed overnight so we could see the musical "Dirty Dancing" in nearby Sunderland and the hotel turned out to be an excellent choice. Very conveniently situated just off the A19 with ample car parking.Rooms are very modern, warm and comfortable. We enjoyed an excellent early evening meal from a comprehensive menu and this was equalled by breakfast next morning.... More

We needed a comfortable overnight stay near to Sunderland. The Seaton lane is 10 miles away but close to the A19 to make the drive into the City simple. The rooms are small but well appointed and comfortable. We had a snack meal in the evening which was tasty and served speedily (we were in a hurrry). After our evening... More

rooms spotless and snug, food fantastic and very quick even when busy. Best of all are the staff, polite, efficient and always happy to help. Now to find a reason to bring my wife!!!!! The only issue is mobile connectivity which is poor to say the least, the hotes broadband is unsecured.
