The Kings Arms Hotel is a fabulous place full of character and characters. A homely welcome from Chris & his fabulous staff. A cracking bar & restaurant to. The room was excellent with a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Wifi as well. What more can you ask for apart from I'm looking forward to dropping by again.

Had a family birthday lunch here, 11 of us, food excellent, hot and tasty. Staff really friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. We will be back. Thanks to the staff who looked after us and made grandad's birthday a special one. He was thrilled with his lunch. We would recommend this hotel for a lunch, the... More

We stopped at the Kings Arms yesterday for lunch, after a long drive. The food was excellent, washed down by well-kept ale. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. It was also our first ever visit to Kirkby Stephen, and we're looking forward to returning for a longer break. We will certainly stay at... More

Our car got stuck on Hill just outside Kirkby Stephen due to Ice. We were kindly given a lift with our dog to Kings Arms. The landlord gave us a room immediately at a reduced rate due to our circumstances. We had a lovely room and meal. The next morning, after an excellent breakfast, the staff found a farmer who was... In December some friends and I met for lunch as a Xmas treat. We were welcomed by Darren given the menu with plenty of choice. We were not disappointed everything was very nice.Darren was very attentive and looked after us through the meal.we would certainly recommend the lunch there and won't hesitate to go back maybe for the evening meal.

We arrived in Kirby Stephen on Christmas Day 2014 whilst walking the Coast to Coast. We had no food and everywhere was shut. It was all looking very bleak until we walked into the Kings Arms and the landlord, who was not open for food, took pity on us and cooked us a delicious meal! Definitiley the best lasagne and... A group of us "ladies that lunch", popped into the Kings Arms today and were thoroughly impressed with the great service, and simple but scrumptious food. We have been in on several occasions for a quick drink, and can't fault the place (especially Friday nights for free live music!!) but today was our first meal. Excellent mustardy coleslaw! I was... Stayed for three nights and it was worth every penny. The room was large and furnished adequately, the shower was excellent with shampoo etc., generously supplied, tea and coffee and biscuits also. The breakfast and the food in general was of good quality. The hotel is centrally situated with free parking all round, ideal base to explore the Eden Valley... More
