Got to Kirkby quite late from the long leg of the coast to coast walk, and food options were few. Kings arms had stopped serving food, but the staff told us we could bring in take aways. Had the perfect mix of Indian and pizza, in friendly homely atmosphere, washed down with the least expensive pint on the c2c, listening... More

We booked up for one night and ended up staying for 3 because we enjoyed it so much. We arrived after food had stopped being served in restaurant, however the Manager Chris Little cooked myself and my partner some side dishes, And a very substantial ham & cheese sandwich each. The pub was friendly and welcoming and we chose to... More

I was part of a group of 15 cyclists doing the coast to coast (W2W) route, and stayed here for one night. We arrived at 8.30 to a waitress coming outside to invite us to put our bikes in the secure function room at the rear of the pub. The waitresses were very organised and friendly in sorting our checking... More

After 80 miles in a saddle the Kings arms was exactly what was needed. Nothing fancy but perfectly suitable for our 15 strong party of bicyclist and support drivers. The staff were fantastically accommodating (Beth was a legend) and the food was great. Excellent value for money.

On Sunday the 31st May, my partner and I with our dog Bob, were travelling from South Shields to the Lake District and stopped at Kirby Stephen for some refreshments on the way. The Kings Arms seemed to be the only place that was dog friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. We ordered a tea and coffee... More

The Kings Arms Hotel is a fabulous place full of character and characters. A homely welcome from Chris & his fabulous staff. A cracking bar & restaurant to. The room was excellent with a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Wifi as well. What more can you ask for apart from I'm looking forward to dropping by again.

We stopped at the Kings Arms yesterday for lunch, after a long drive. The food was excellent, washed down by well-kept ale. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. It was also our first ever visit to Kirkby Stephen, and we're looking forward to returning for a longer break. We will certainly stay at... More
