We stopped in the area for one night. The couple running the place are very nice but the room was dirty, dusty, pillow cases were not changed, kettle was broken, shower was dreadful and did not dare to touch the tea cups ..... We did not stay there for the night in the end....

We stopped off in this village not knowing the area, we shopped in the local butchers very nice(Dales) need a quick snack so walked into the copper kettle was shocked at how dated the inside was, but to our suprise the food was very pleasant and so cheap you would be suprised. The couple who run the place our lovely... More

We were in kirkby lonsdale for the xmas weekend (1st saturday in december) all the restaurants and the town were packed with people, the same couldnt be said of the kettle, looking through the window of the very dated cafe come restaurant it was empty, been coming to the town for about 10 years and in all that time it... I arived at the copper kettle after a 2 hour drive to hear the land lady say there isn't a room available even though I had booked months in advance. Her excuse was she had double booked. After hearing her talk more about it not being her fault she pointed me in the direction to a local ladys house. This... More

We stayed two nights, while visiting for a family wedding. In a town with so much B&B accommdation, it’s hard to see how this place survives. Our room was no more than adequate, accessed via the very shabby staircase, and with a door lock that was difficult to operate. Generally, it was clean, though the carpets need more than a... More

Stayed here for two nights over a weekend in September. The hosts are old school but very welcoming and friendly. I was solo on a motorbike and this was securely parked in the shed. The room I was showed to was number 3 and was large and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom. Make no mistake - the decor, furnishings, magazines,... More

We ate here as part of a large group one lunchtime. It was not my choice and I should have followed my instinct and turned around a left the minute we walked in and the smell of old chip fat hit me. We should have realised that there would be a reason why a cafe in a busy market town... More

Stayed one night due to there being no other rooms available in the village that night. Very dated stuck in the 70's, but good enough for a one nighter. The owners where fine and friendly though others have posted on here that they were not. Certainly not a place to base yourselves for a few days but if you want... More

Friendly greeting, shown to parking area, ample room size and amenities, great breakfast, lovely location and excellent value. would definitely stay again. I found the Town very welcoming and enjoyed walking around tasting the Cumbrian beer in some of the Eight local pubs.

The first thing that hits you as entering apart from the stale chip fat smell it's like a time warp!!! The hosts have been there 34 years and probably not done any modernizations during the whole time. They couldn't understand why they had no dinner guest's!!! We could, crammed tables and very old fashioned!!!! Doesn't inspire you to dine. Our room number... More
