Hipping Hall is a boutique hotel set in stunning surroundings with the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District on the doorstep. The hotel has only a handful of rooms which makes it perfect for a romantic getaway. It is about 1.5-2 hours drive from York, where it is easy to hire a car. We would definitely recommend the bed, breakfast and... More

After deciding on a mini-break to the beautiful scenery of the Lakes, we needed a fitting hotel to stay at and more importantly an exquisite meal - Hipping Hall certainly did not disappoint. We arrived to an incredibly warm and friendly welcome and were offered a choice of 3 rooms, including a free upgrade. We settled on an upstairs room,... More

We fancied a last minute summer break to sneak away from stressful jobs in the city and this place was just perfect. Despite the fact that it poured with rain the whole time nothing dampened our enjoyment. From the moment we arrived to a sumptuous suite and luxurious bathroom, swiftly following by a half bottle of fizzy, through tea brought... More

We have just returned from our first visit to Hipping Hall and would have no hesitation in recommending it. Our visit started with the warmest of welcomes, we were offered a choice of rooms and then invited to the lounge for coffee and cake. Our room was lovely, facing the garden and had everything you could possibly need. After a... More

We booked our stay at the last minute and managed to secure the Suite which is a beautiful room with bedroom, lounge and an stunning bathroom, it is located in the top of the house via some pretty steep stairs so you need to be able bodied to stay in this room but its well worth the climb. We saw... More

We stayed in Room 8, nice suite with plenty of room and bathroom suitable for wheelchair users. We went for the tasting menu with accompanying wine. It was really good, some great taste combinations and knowledgeable staff, particularly with the wine. Staff were efficient and organised. It is a beautiful old building though not much is made of the history... More

Firstly, this is a very good character hotel. We stayed in room 3 which was very nice although the carpet is an acquired taste. You also need to get used to the slope on the floor which means that without a pillow your head is higher than your feet in bed. Also, you can't get wi-fi in your room, you... More

We got lost trying to find the hotel - there's a sign for it on the main road, but if you blink, you'll miss it (which we did). We rang the hotel and the very friendly woman who answered the phone got us back on track in no time. We arrived, sat in the garden and looked out on a... More

This was a two day treat. We arrived at this very pretty stone manor house on a gloriously sunny afternoon. We ordered tea outside but why are there no cushions on the chairs? This is not a cheap B&B and I would expect that the metal chairs would be supplied with cushions. The six course dinner was excellent. An interesting wine... More
