I forget exactly how we found Hungerford. It's not a tourist town (which is a plus, for me). I had made a similar tour of the area in 2003 (Stonehenge and Avebury) and stayed in Marlborough, which was a perfectly fine town. I was just looking for someplace different and maybe a little quieter. So I looked at a map... More

We stayed at Alderborne House for one night on 9th August, 2014. We were given a choice of rooms and opted for the double at the front of the house. The room was light and spacious, well presented, spotlessly clean and had all the usual amenities as well as ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom, which was adjacent the... More

From the very start to the end of our stay at Alderborne House, Hungerford, we were made very welcomed. The property is spotless, breakfast made with thought to the people staying and for some body like me with a bad back, a firm bed mattress, bliss ! Thank you.

It's always a pleasure to read reviews especially the good ones. Our motto has always been 'remain small' and this way guests are given that little extra attention especially where diets are concerned ! We do prefer to know in advance of any extra special diets but one of the nice things about a bnb is that mostly they are... More

Excellent accommodation. Thoroughly recommended. The breakfast was fantastic in terms of quality and quantity. Hosts were very helpful and warm and friendly. Lovely view over the fields helped me to relax. Room was furnished to a high standard and was very clean. Certainly one of the best bed and breakfast places to stay and the hosts were helpful. I very... More

Thank you so much Andrew for your kind words. We always try to go better than our 'very best' and from comments received not just from posted reviews but also from verbal comments know how much our guests have enjoyed their stays. Being genuine locals we were very interested to learn about your recent lecture ! Best wishes P &... More

My family of 4 stayed at Alderborne House for two nights the first week of May 2014. It was a very pleasant stay with all three rooms being very clean and comfortable. Our host Pat and Colin were very helpful with the planning of day trips. The breakfast was wonderful in their sun room. The view was fantastic. We would... More

We've been using Pat and Colins bed and breakfast establishment for the last 11 years as a base for our yearly Army Regimental reunions. We now regard them as our friends in Hungerford. The rooms are always spotless, always in fantastic decorative order and at breakfast time a real treat to share stories over a superbly cooked breakfast. The rooms use... More

I was prompted to looked at Tripadvisor and found your pleasing comments. We know you extol our virtues from the number of enquiries received but as always your room is booked for the following year and we look forward to catching up again. Pity about yours and our good chum but the good news for you meant there was no... More

Thank you so much for your hospitality and a most enjoyable and comfortable stay on Sunday, it was most appreciated. Our fishing trip was also as enjoyable and looks like will become at least an annual event, so we look forward to staying with you again. Thank you once again and we thoroughly reccommend your b&b.

This is one B&B that lives up to its website - what you see is what you get! We had a lovely warm welcome from Pat and Colin when we arrived which set the scene for our stay with them whilst walking the Kennet and Avon Canal. The room had the Wow factor, the bed was so comfortable (including lovely... More

We stayed here earlier in the year while visiting family in the area. The host's were very friendly and helpful. Accommodation excellent and first class breakfast in the morning. I cannot wait to return later in the year when visiting my family. If you are in the area try this B & B as you will not be disappointed.

As B&B's go, this is a very clean and cosy house. The rooms are all well kitted out and bedding lovely and soft. It's nice to have breakfast in the conservatory which has great views of the garden. Breakfast was scrummy. Location wise, its a short walk into the high street which has all the antique shops and some nice... More
