We were worried after reading the reviews as we had booked rooms in the main hotel, not the superior ones at the back. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in room 10 which was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. As it was not at the front, noise was not an issue. The television was very small but... More

We were walking the Towpath on the Kennet and Avon Canal, when we overnighted at the Three Swans. It happened that we were to get a taxi to Pewsey our next stop, and our taxi driver said it all. 'It has a very nice reception area' he said. And it does. But beyond that it seemed to us that we... More

We dashed in from torrential rain to be met at reception by 3 disinterested staff, not one of them had the courtesy to smile and say hello. We went into the bar area where the bar man was serving a customer, no acknowledgement of our arrival. He was curt and abrupt in his serving of us, thank goodness the whitebait... More

Old rooms: Dated, too hot, dirty, uneven floors, and worst of all very noisy all the time, rooms on the road are worst suffering from single glazed rooms. But any room in the old side you will hear the old clock tower every hour until at least 12AM I did not enjoy counting the twelve strikes when I had to... More

We have lived here for 8 years now and the three swans has jumped from great to mediocre. We always hesitate to go in - however last week we really enjoyed it. Great whitebait, Rick had the Carbonara and I had the sea bass. We were really pleased. So give it another go if you've tried it before and see... More

I stopped off at this charming hotel by chance with my family and was greeted by smiling staff and attentive service. The bar menu looked good so we decide to eat. The overall feeling from the family was that it was a excellent meal at a very good price. I would certainly go there again

This hotel has to win an award for poor bar food service. We stopped off here for a light meal. I agree with others who noted that the staff are friendly and try to be helpful. But something must have happened between the bar and the kitchen. I ordered a vegetable and goats cheese sandwich, expecting reasonably fresh bread, some... More

The standard of this accomodation in relation to the cost was appalling. Bar staff & restaurant staff were friendly, but reception & management couldn't be bothered. Decor is creaky & dated in stifling rooms with windows that don't open. Fans are provided but do little but circulate stuffy air. And as for the TV... You probably need better eyesight than... More
